Adapting Dark Souls: Soul Magic
Bear in mind these spells are designed for an NPC class and thus are meant to be used by enemies of the PC or weaker NPC allies, hence their lack of versatility.
Range: 20 feet +5 feet per 5 levels (max 50)/10 feet +5 per three levels (maximum 40)
Save: Perception Check DC 13+Intelligence bonus+1 per 5 levels (max level bonus +7)
The caster sends a small sphere of energy to a single location, which then emits a loud noise and flash of light. All sentient creatures within 10 feet who fail their save feel compelled to go over and look at the glowing flashy ball until its effects end. Should anybody unfamiliar come within 10 feet of the target, they can make a spot check to notice them with a -4 penalty and break the spell, otherwise they just stare. Being attacked or seeing somebody else be attacked automatically gets them out of this state, as do loud noises, or physical sensation (like a vibration). This spell does not work on creatures who fear death/are engaged in possible life or death scenarios.
Example of Use: Used to keep a small group of Bat Demons stationary until spearmen can get into position and slay them all.
Duration: Ten mins+1 per two levels.
Illuminates 20 feet around caster.
You create a flowing ball of light above your own head in order to see shit. It makes you a fairly noticeable target, but you can see, and it doesn’t interfere with any of your abilities. Creatures weak against natural light will be affected.
Example of Use: Used to blind a band of cave goblins while going a slaughtering
Save: Spot check DC 19+half caster level+int bonus. True seeing sees through
The caster turns themselves into an inanimate object to avoid detection. They are aware of what is going on around them as much as they would if they were standing, but this is not an illusion, a person can touch this object. But if the object is moved in anyway, the caster’s true form is revealed, and he counts as flat footed for the next round. Should somebody attack the object, not only do they damage the caster in what counts as a surprise round, they also can deal sneak attack damage. However should the caster attack somebody else in the this form, it is reversed. Spells that effect objects do not become this. The objects the caster can become include a large pot, a small tree, a barrel, a podium, a stone statue, and a giant mushroom
Example of use: used to assassinate an enemy Miracle Worker
One weapon suddenly takes on a crystalline form, which when activated become sharper and much brighter. When the spell is caster, the wielder of the weapon becomes aware of the spell and how to activate the crystals. May only be used on bladed weapons
