Rewatching mob psycho 100 and i just remembered why its one of my most favourite anime. The change of style is so appealing to me. You have the wonky lines and in the next moment you have a Ghost in watercolour texture, next moment mob gets swallowed and it looks chalk like and it just never ends. Just finished watching Digimon adventures 02 and I can't believe how much they fumbled with the end?
First of all, I know it's a show from 2000s so there were a lot of old fashioned outcomes. For example all the boys got to be lawyers, doctors, astronauts etc while all the girls became... Kindergardener... Fashion designer... Housewife??
Secondly how could they do this to Ken and Daisuke (Davis) as well as Hikari (Kari) and Takeru (T. K.). And Miyakos (Yolei) faith..
Especially Daisuke and Ken???
Every time they were together I just believed they were already in love? They talked about hearing each other's heart beat and understanding each other on a personal level and Ken was happy with him and Daisuke stopped pining for Hikari after hanging out with Ken.
Same with Yamato (Matt) and Taichi (Tai)? They were arm in arm when they saw Takeru beating the shit out of Daisuke and were reminiscing about "back then".
Hikari and Takeru were literally soulmates? They understood each other without exchanging words. Hikari didn't even get a picture as a kindergardener, it was just stated. She looked so unhappy.
Miyako was an outspoken young women who should be fighting for rights and not stay at home.
I know it's a children's show but.. Don't make strong women into timid and sad housewives and gay guys into straights..

Since the highly questionable canon ending was Takeru (T.K.) being an author and retelling what happend, we never actually know what really happened between Daisuke (Davis) and Ken, as well as between Taichi (Tai) and Yamato (Matt).
