Ramblings of a Grateful Writer on Ambien
I just finished my second Handerson: The College Years fic. Its so funny to me, as a writer and a shipper, that you can get so into something that you never gave one thought to before someone or something planted a little seed in your head. I know there were some fans out there who shipped Handerson, either really really or as a crack ship. I had been on the fringes of watching it go down but didnt pay it a lot of mind. I wrote #1 Crush cuz my friend AJ (andersonsland) wasnt having the best day.
I knew they were her ship so I took a flying leap. I made it a high school AU because it was a little improbable for me to see them together as adults. But in writing this series and those characters I think I've learned something. I'm writing homosexuals, bisexuals, and even a transgendered character. I'm writing teenagers.
They all happen to be white right now but that's not entirely my fault. I'm writing boys and girls and the dynamics of those relationships in your late teens. I'm writing about the end of one stage of life and the beginning of another. And I'm trying to make sure through it all I hold onto the essence of what made the character so awesome in the first place to the fans.
Without a certain something at their core, Hotch couldnt be Hotch, Garcia couldnt be Garcia, and Elle couldnt be Elle. I'm glad I get to have the most fun with Anderson. He's my main character after all so at least I can build him nearly from the ground up.
And I'm gonna stop rambling now. I just wanna thank some people who have put the greatest rare pair ideas into my head over the years. Like andersonsland, and aspenlit who constantly encouraged Elizabeth Prentiss & Tom Barton (or Tee-Eee as we called them), and vegawriters who encouraged CJ & Leo, and rossileo, who totally loved, embraced, and encouraged Kate Wolcott and John Barton, and so screwby and citymusings, who always stand by Sam and Jessie.
All of you have a hand in making me a better writer through listening and suggesting and goofing around and being there for sounding boards and I love you. I really love and appreciate all of you.

How about some dosage calculations for meds because i want to scream not knowing why rate and time goes ontop of concentration
I'm going to answer this on my shiny new blog because why not?
If you are asking what I think you are it's just this: the amount of a drug that's supposed to be given to a person is usually known in mL.
But you don't directly inject the given amount into a person because you don't have a pure drug, it's a solution of varying concentration. However, you do know the concentration and rate of intravenous flow.
So if you want to find out how many mLs of drug is given to a patient, you multiply the rate (let's say in mL of solution/sec) with the time (in sec) and divide by concentration (in mL of drug/mL of solution). This is the only way the units will work out to give you an answer in mL of drug.
(rate*time)/(concentration) = ((mL of solution/sec)*(sec))/(mL of drug/mL of solution) = mL of drug
Does that make sense or was it too confusing?

Someone's gonna eat it. I hope they're OK.
