I am secretly thrilled to hear your thoughts on the Holmes family background in response to the sorting at 221B Con. One of the questions I had toyed with including concerned the blood status of the Holmes family. It seems a common trope in Potterlock fic that Sherlock and Mycroft are the product an old pureblood wizarding family. Yet the ordinariness of the Holmes parents in series 3 may have challenged some assumptions common in fandom, including this one. 

 This reminds me a little of how Severus Snape was perceived of in many parts of the Harry Potter fandom before the release of book 6, when it was revealed he was actually a half-blood from a run-down industrial town instead of being the heir to a pureblood family, raised in a  manor similar to that of the Malfoys.

After listening to the Sorting Sherlock segment of Episode 22, in which we discussed Mummy and Daddy Holmes, cryptic_answers e-mailed us to say "no one mentioned the Holmes parents' love of line dancing and Broadway musicals, which puts them squarely into the musical performance house at Beauxbatons.  Didn't you know?"

Hopefully there will be a chance for you to take part in a sorting or other roundtable recording in the future. The good news is that this is not a one time thing and Three Patch will continue to seek out places where there are Sherlock fans to get them involved in interviews and roundtables. Hopefully there will be one you can participate in.
