For those who wonder...
No worries, the sculpture is fine (sorta). Well, i did a mistake and now am paying the price. In other words i used wrong colors and now am cleaning the sculpture. I feel stupid :I
I had those colors laying around, they look like acrylic colors, even come in little 75ml tubes, but apparently they’re not. I don’t know what they are (well, they’re called “sto School-Colour-System”), but they refuse to stick to the hardened sculpey no matter what. Well except for the grooves of the fur texture, where i kinda struggle to get it out without damaging the texture with pointy things.
I ordered acrylics and some accessories on Amazon and it should arrive next week. Enough time to figure out how to get the crappy color out of his “fur”. :I
And also before i start painting him again, i’ll practise on test-pieces... i’ll practise until i’m statisfied, even if it means that i have to burn through a whole block of sculpey for practise purposes xD
I’ve also filed his claws, now they look sharp and even! On another note, tho, one of his “fingers” has a very weak connection and already fell off twice, luckily i could glue it back on. And also his tail keeps breaking at it’s onset, because of how heavy it is compared to the thin point where it is atteched. I’m not looking forward to this on the lemurs i’m planning to make. x.x
I’ve thought about using pipe cleaners for lemur tails, but i’m having trouble finding a thick b/w striped one. I have to think of something else.
I will post pictures when i feel like i’m making progress. Once i find my... “mojo”... i’ll make other sculptures, probably the entire core crew of AHKJ plus some characters... I feel like Ted should get one, too.
Like one wise girl said: “You can’t make an omlette without breaking some legs” :P
Memo to myself: Never trust color tubes that have no lable of what they are.
