honestly i think theres definitely something to be said abt the parallels between credo and vergil as people and their pursuits of power tbh and one day i may endeavour to write a proper meta post abt it.Â
like tbqh the apparent root of their drive is grounded in the same concept ( âpower to protectâ, albeit we donât actually ever see vergil galvanized by this specific ideal but rather just bear witness to the actions that come of his wants; canon doesnât really delve into or contextualize the âwhyâ behind what he does beyond a few dialogue lines, so most interpretation is extrapolated, but i digress... ) regardless, thereâs definitely a duality to be spoken on with regard to the âliterally became a big scary monsterâ in pursuit of power, though credo was far more forthright with it being just for kyrie, whereas vergil...wants power...for numerous reasons, and iâm oftentimes inclined more so to believe that his reiteration of âyou canât protect anything if you donât have powerâ is maybe just a throwaway in light of his actual underlying drive BUT. again. i digress. anyway credo is important and im glad that he wasnât entirely slept on in d.mc5.
