Beating the normal allegations and overanalyzing this scene

* Emma lowers her arms after covering her ears, though not completely. It’s very subtle, but she moves her arms up slightly before Priya reaches her. It could be just because she stopped and the bounce is exaggerated, but it would still mean her arms stopped there- where she can hold Priya.

* Priya RUNS towards her. The animation exaggerates this, and the camera shifts to focus on them.

* There is no frame between Emma’s hands held in front of her and her hugging Priya. When Priya hugs her, Emma’s head is pushed forward (to the right), likely from the enthusiasm of the impact.

* Priya hugs her first with her right arm, and then pulls up and towards her with her left.

* EMMA’S PUPILS SHRINK AND THEN DILATE. She blinks and the change is noticeable. Guys I can’t be normal about this.

* When Priya pulls away, she slides her hand down Emma’s arm and grabs her hands. Priya pulls Emma’s hands towards her, and both girls take small steps away from each other.

* Emma is slightly “shorter” than before, and leans towards Priya slightly. Priya settles into the spot she stands at.

* When Emma is told the “good news”, she pulls Priya’s hands up/toward her slightly and leans forward.

* Priya drops Emma’s left hand, lowering it subtly beforehand, and the other is slightly lowered. She leans towards Emma, and Emma’s posture straightens a bit.

Priya not understanding that Emma no longer wants to participate because she doesn’t see not playing the game as an option…

Emma trusts Priya because she knows she isn’t doing well and wants to trust the one person who trusts her… it’s gullible, yeah, but she knows she needs someone on her side, and not listening to Priya wouldn’t help her at all…

Last chance… Emma feigns apathy, and Priya forces her to participate… “I’m serious!” “What gives?” This clearly matter more to Priya than to Emma… “This is your one shot left to save the team”… Priya isn’t at risk of being voted (she should be, but canonically she isn’t) so why does she care about her team winning- Emma is the only person who would be voted off at this point… she cares about Emma? So she still sees her as an asset… “Swallow your pride”- it’s not about her pride over being wrong! It’s about her feeling betrayed! Priya misunderstands this… but thinks she’s helping Emma? “Win us immunity”… win Emma immunity because she’ll be voted off?… err make sure the other team doesn’t get it?

“You want me to pick the opposite of what I think” she agrees to it! If Priya hadn’t lied to her at first she would have agreed! She makes it clear in the first season that she’s fine doing risky/stupid things as long as she’s AWARE of it! “Okay. Let’s win this challenge!” She still trusts Priya! And she’s not stupid, she knows that her strategy works. She’s just hurt.

When she says “no!” seeing Chase… I want to die!!! He continues to ruin everything for her and be the only way she remains useful 😭

“Emma, don’t think!” Fair thing to say I guess… but she’s obviously so stuck in that strategy/desperate to win mindset and can’t get out of it when thinking here WOULD help Emma! “Priya, please! I know this one is B” She knows! But of course Priya wouldn’t believe her… and Emma knows it doesn’t make sense for her to… “Fight it! Trust that your gut is wrong.” what a messed up thing to tell someone haha… damn Priya. But she does think she’s helping Emma because this has been the case over and over. Priya looks angry because she can’t imagine going AGAINST the strategy that could help them win… she thinks it’s all about Emma’s pride, but it’s about her “value”… “But!- Okay…” she knows she isn’t winning this… no point in fighting for longer… “I’ll pick A.” SHE DOESN’T THINK IT’S A. BUT SHE’S WILLING TO PICK IT. Ughhhh… Priya seems angry, but it’s because she lost… it’s her fault!

Priya seems composed but worried… Emma is so sad 😔😭… I have to insert this next part I think

PRIYA CLEARLY FEELS BAD. I don’t think she feels guilty, exactly… but she values Emma and feels empathetic for her. Also they have the same pose and they’re sitting right next to each other! Urghhh…

PRIYA IS SURPRISED SHES AT RISK OF ELIMINATION. She doesn’t feel bad because she thinks she could be out, she genuinely feels bad for Emma and the team. She obviously doesn’t like losing, but she makes it so obvious she cares about Emma somewhat.

“You messed with Emma’s head and ignored her when she told you she knew the answer!” Yep uh huh go off Chef‼️

Emma feels bad and then is like 🤨 to Priya haha! Priya realizes it was kind of messed up, Emma wonders if Priya understand how Emma felt…

They’re so quiet here. It’s nervous and solemn and so weird for them! They were friends! Caleb alliance blah blah… “This can’t be how I go out!” She can’t imagine being eliminated when she really tried to win! But she was kind of terrible to Emma. And that fear takes over all other emotions she would show.

Neither of them are happy with this. What a stupid way to lose. Emma doesn’t get much to say here. I think they want to hammer in that keeping Priya was important but damn Fresh… you could have given her a line! They really don’t care about her

Priya is safe and nothing else matters. Her face doesn’t change for the rest of the episode. She glances around… but expresses little other than relief and joy.

Emma leaves, saddened. A bitter ending- she thought she could win… she’ll go back to whatever. They really don’t care about her.

So. Priya cares. But she can’t win over her need to win. Emma knows it’s over.

Hm.

Priya knowing she isn’t a people person and using that to TRICK her??? Because she needs Emma “focused”- no, she needs her ignorant! Arg! Really salting the wound that she can’t understand people by lying to her and using her. Damn.

Bonus:

But they could have been allies! They were… Emma didn’t really know. Teammates, at worst. She was the closest thing Emma had to a friend. But calling them close would be stupid. If they had really been close, Emma wouldn’t have been so worried about proving herself in the first place. She thought she could make it. She thought she was a valuable player.
