Something about the wiccanâs lean into his cold touch would have made his heart flutter had it been beating. He hated feeling so much--granted that these were pleasantries--he followed Kikiâs gaze.
âThat is understandable. You could always save it for later.â Stanislav replied, knowing that it finances didnât matter. He had more than enough money to fret over a bottle of liquor. His hand retracted from his loverâs face as Kiki put the bottle in the fridge, light hues observing the way she seemed to hesitate pouring out the booze. It was an odd choice, seeing as Kiki had always found an excuse to drink but perhaps his earlier comment from the first night theyâd spent together had struck something within her; even more-so after losing the relatives she loved so dearly.
Crossing his arms; he listened as she asked whether or not he could read piano notes. âOf course I can. Would you like for me to play?â Perhaps that might cheer his human up. Without a verbal response, as soon as Kiki grabbed his hand he gave a small squeeze--their âthingâ--and allowed the human to guide him to the piano that lay within the main area of his residence. Much like before, the tall glass revealed the expanse of their city. Taking a seat on the piano bench, he looked to his lover as she pulled out her phone and pulled up the sheet music he required.
Hues scanned over, and after setting the screen where it needed to be; his fingers assumed position on the pristine white keys and he with coordination of a skilled pianist he began to hit the notes. Looking to the notes, he didnât so much as have to glance at where his digits would press as he had many years of experience. The melody was unfamiliar; but nonetheless somber and it wasnât until Kiki began to sing wherein he came to understand this was a way of her to release her feelings.
Remaining quiet as the wiccan sang her song, he found himself impressed. While it may be viewed as average to others, heâd much prefer Kikiâs voice than that of any other artist--though this likely stemmed from his infatuation, and he was most certainly biased. He came to gather this song was a representation of her feelings towards the Professor, and Stanislav could empathize to her hatred. He had loathed his maker to his core, but unlike Kiki; his maker had long since died--saving him from her mockery, the taunting, the abuse.
After the final note, the room enshrouded itself within a heavy silence akin to holding oneâs breath. Stanislav looked to the wiccan at his side, gently tucking loose locks behind her ear with a delicate touch he saved only for her.
âYou have a lovely voice.â The vampire king commented, light hues fixated on her profile. âWe make an interesting pair, wouldnât you agree?â He paused, looking to the piano once more. âAre there any other songs youâd like to duet?â
As he brushed a strand of hair behind her ear she finally looked up to meet her vampires gaze. she couldnât help but smile, she didnât see any judgement in his light blue eyes and it set her at ease. Singing was definitely a healthier coping mechanism then drinking herself sick. Paired together with Stans elegant playing she thought they made a decent match. âThank you, itâs been awhile since Iâve sang in front of someone....â yet again her vampire seemed to get her flustered. Her hand reaching over and grabbing his, interlocking their fingers as she gave a squeeze. âYes we do make an interesting pairing! It was nice...to be able to make music with you!â Her gaze follows his as she stares at the keys. Another song?
Singing was helping her get her feelings out, feelings she didnât want to speak about. She liked to keep an optimistic, sunshine personality around others. Her darker side was something she was greatly ashamed of, she didnât enjoy seeing the greys of the world. But through music, she felt that she could secretly express herself through lyrics without outright saying it was how she felt. Grabbing her phone from the music stand she tried thinking of another song. Scrolling through music she knew in her mind she settled for one that she was very familiar with. âI know how to play this song on the guitar, itâs one of my favoritesâ googling the music sheet for the song, she sat her phone back up on the music stand. Her gaze lowering to the keys as he began to play the melody. Closing her eyes she took a breath and began to sing.
âPerfect by nature, icons of self indulgence. Just what we all need. More lies about a world that never was and never will be. Have you no shame donât you see me, you know youâve got everybody fooled. Look here she comes now, bow down and stare in wonder oh how we love you. No flaws when youâre pretending. But now I know she never was and never will be. You donât know how you betrayed me and somehow you got everybody fooled.â So many emotions were running through her body as she sang. Hurt, anger, sadness, fear from the past and the present mixing together. âWithout the mask where will you hide. Canât find yourself, lost in your lie! I know the truth now, I know who you are and I donât love you anymore! It never was and never will be youâre not real and you canât save me. Somehow now youâre everybodyâs fool....â
