Cookies and Cream (Peaches and Sweets)
SoRiku Week 2025, Day 7 -- Crossover/Fusion
Crossover with Cookie Run: Kingdom
Summary: Of all worlds to land in, Sora and Riku didn’t expect to become cookies as part of blending in.
“OF ALL THE THINGS I’VE SEEN, TALKING COOKIES ISN’T THE WEIRDEST.”
Riku arched an eyebrow at Sora’s statement, knowing that he was right anyway. Talking cookies certainly weren’t the weirdest things they’ve ever encountered, Sora remembered very clearly Lumiére and Cogsworth after all.
The two were on a vacation, a vacation that Sora had been prepared to fight for with Yen Sid in case he refused to let them go. Before going into Yen Sid’s office, he had puffed his chest like he’d seen Hercules do, only to deflate when Yen Sid agreed and let them take a vacation.
Sora had pouted to the very heavens on his return to his and Riku’s room at the Mysterious Tower, and it took a long cuddle time for his pout to go away. Riku, ever the devoted and sappy boyfriend that he is, could only comply with Sora’s whims.
Packed up and ready to go, they said their goodbye’s to Kairi (and listened to her threat of keeping her on the loop in case anything happened or she will learn zettaflare just to ignite it on their asses) and went on a world tour so to speak.
Sora proudly showed Riku around to every single world he’d been on, even the ones Riku had a… unpleasant past with. But Riku had atoned for his actions back then, had apologized personally to every single person he had hurt.
That’s why Sora was immensely happy to see Riku enjoy himself while on this trip. He got to see him be bewildered with the oddities of Wonderland, swing along the vines in Deep Jungle, spar with Hercules, meet Pooh and immediately fall in love with Hundred Acre Wood, complain about sand in Agrabah, play with Pinocchio, be embarrassed about his werewolf tail wagging whenever Sora so much as glanced at him in Halloween Town, find out that Santa is in fact real at Christmas Town, swim in the ocean with his shark tail in Atlantica, and fly with him in Neverland, like Sora dreamed of when he was fifteen and hurting, missing Riku like a limb.
He got to dance with Riku in Beast’s Castle, play fight with him as lions in the Pride Lands, meet the Emperor in the Land of Dragons, sail in Sora’s boat as his first mate in Port Royal, explore San Fransokyo, drink hot chocolate in Arendelle, geek out over being a monster in Monstropolis, see the lantern festival at Corona, and his wonder over being a toy in Toy Box.
So many expressions, so many worlds, so many emotions, and Sora felt grateful to be able to witness each and every one of them, by his side, as his equal.
His boyfriend!, Sora can’t help but squee in his mind. Only Riku could have him act this lovesick.
Which brings back to his earlier point. The talking cookies, who apparently have an actual kingdom, with a castle that has to be made from candy because Sora swears that he can see soft serve as one of head pieces of the castle.
Said talking cookies in front of them were so adorable! GingerBrave was, well, as his name clearly states, a very brave cookie. A very brave, young cookie, which makes Sora’s blood pressure rise and remembers himself at 14, lost and confused after losing his island, losing Kairi, losing Riku–.
Anyway, GingerBrave and company.
Strawberry Cookie was the shyest of the group, timid and burying herself in her pink hoodie. She carried a lollipop as her weapon, and Sora had seen her twirl around with that same lollipop in order to smack enemies.
GingerBrave’s weapon was a candy cane, and Sora swore he had a heart attack when he noticed that GingerBrave would literally slam head-first into enemies with no fear.
“You’re one to talk,” he remembered Riku remarking when he brought that into attention. “We’re not talking about me here, we’re talking about GingerBrave.” Sora had refuted, turning his nose away from Riku.
You disappear for a year and suddenly, everyone needs to be calling into attention your strategies for battle.
Wizard Cookie was the mage of the group, and Sora didn't hesitate to compare him to Donald. Quick tempers, an attitude, that know-it-all edge that made Sora’s teeth grind when his patience evaporated. But Wizard Cookie genuinely loved learning, and he loved his friends even more.
Custard Cookie III was even younger than the other three, and all Sora wanted to do when in his presence was scoop him up and turn him into a blanket burrito, so that nothing could ever hurt him. Even Riku looked alarm when he saw Custard Cookie III, someone who very much did not belong in battle.
Chili Pepper Cookie was the adult of the group, and someone who Sora and Riku learned very quickly to not leave their munny pouches unprotected. That girl could sniff out money like no other, but it was clear she was fond of her little group of heroes.
She had sneaked away moments ago, probably about to go rob some other unfortunate soul. Sora was just glad she quit trying to get their munny.
The world they were in was called Earthbread, on the continent of Crispia. Everything here had to do with sweets, pastries, dough, you name it. They probably should have worked on their names but thankfully, their new friends didn’t raise any eyebrows. It was enough for them that they looked like cookies.
And look like cookies they did. Sora still had his usual outfit, and his spiky-nest of a hair, but his skin was now a brown dough, and his eyebrows were white. It was obvious to him that he was supposed to be a gingerbread cookie.
Riku, on the other hand, had wings. Bat wings made of pure sugar, but with the colors of his dream eater, Komory Bat (otherwise known as Mochi). His dough was fair, and Sora thought that Riku must be some sort of sugar cookie.
All in all, Sora was enjoying this world, and by the smile on Riku’s face, he’s not the only. Of course, given Riku’s sweet tooth, Sora wouldn’t be surprised if this ended up being Riku’s favorite world, surpassing Hundred Acre Wood.
“C’mon, we should go to the Jampie Diner first! Sora and Riku should try out the jelly stew first.” GingerBrave said, leading the way.
“Maybe something a little more filling, like a bear jelly burger,” Wizard Cookie suggested, tugging at his scarf.
“Maybe… the jelly deluxe pizza? We could all share it,” Strawberry pitched in, voice soft and low. “As your king, I demand for us to get the jellybean meal!” Custard Cookie III exclaimed, head held proudly.
Sharing a look, Sora and Riku intertwined their hands and walked on with their new friends, happy to let them lead.
“Personally, I can’t wait for the bear jelly burger. I can feel it calling my name,” Sora salivated, knowing it was the equivalent of a cheeseburger.
“I wouldn’t mind trying the jelly stew,” Riku offered, letting the chatting between the four cookies ahead of them wash over.
“That’s because you like boring stuff Riku,” Sora teased, laughing at the affronted look Riku threw at him.
Yeah, this vacation idea was the best he’s ever had. He wouldn’t trade it for the world.
A/N: We have arrived to the last day of SoRiku Week 😭. I had so much fun doing this event, and I'm pretty proud of the fanfic's I wrote for this week. I was very excited for this crossover prompt, because I recently got back into CRK and I knew I needed to write something about it.
I've only gotten Eternal Sugar Cookie and Burning Spice Cookie so far from the Beast Cookies 🥹 Shadow Milk Cookie does not want to come home for some reason 😭. And the event has only 3 days left, noooo 😭.
Anyway, this is it for now! Thank you so much for all of you who enjoyed my stories! Until next time 😎. Happy SoRiku Week @sorikufanevents 🎉!
