I think I’m gonna blame the weird and stupid yandere interpretation of Soppo on people who’ve heard about GFL but have only been exposed to fanart. Like, I think some artist saw her line about collecting sangvis fingers and went “oh hey that’d make a cool picture” and then drew her covered in blood offering the commander eyeballs or something and the people who only like the character designs saw that sort of thing and went “ah yes, yandere, I understand completely now.”
I say this because before I got into it the only art of her I was exposed too was the yandere shit and that was by dudes who ended up hating the game but loved the characters so I thought that’s what she was for a while. Then I finally got her and good lord was she not what I expected, which was actually a good thing since I actually kinda hated her based on my initial impressions.
That all being said, I am glad that the more popular interpretation of her just being a dog is much more on point and far funnier.
