But you shouldn't have to be thinking about stuff like that when you're writing your feelings. The thing with Taylor is that she has made it very clear that she writes about her boyfriends and that she has the hidden messages in the lyrics and that's the only thing that makes her different from other artists, because we know that they write about the same things but they aren't very open with it. When she's thinking about this girl that stole her bf, she's gonna think nasty things... (cont.)
And when she's writing about the guy that said she can't sing, she's also gonna think bad things about him and that's what she will write. She's not thinking about what everyone else is gonna think about her, she's thinking of letting her frustration out. And if she doesn't care what people think about her we shouldn't either. I understand your feelings of not agreeing with everything she writes, I just think you should put yourself in her shoes and see that it could be hard to censor yourself.

Darling, I have put myself in her shoes - multiple times. I'm a writer. I write what I feel. I have written some pretty nasty scathing stuff, but I don't put it out there. I mean - even with some of my anons, I write a horrendously mean reply to those who are rude to me, but then I stop and re-read it and censor it because no one should be spoken to like that.
I'm not saying that she should care what people think of her - that's not what I'm getting at here. I'm saying that she should realize that what she says has an impact on those who are still too young to form and mold their own minds. If they see her going around and calling someone a slut (even in the classier way that she did it), they're going to think it's okay to do the same because they are impressionable and young. She shouldn't censor herself for the critics, she should censor her self for the young audience that she is raising.
