when it comes to how I draw peter, it really took some time to figure out. A big part of my art process is stylization, and so I literally just drew Peter/Tom over and over again until his features became more simplified and I was satisfied with how he looked (same thing with Tony). A big part of this is repetition, and trying to capture the essence of someone/their features without drawing everything specifically in perfect detail.

an big example of this is how i draw eyes:

For instance, Peter/Tom has more of a square shape to the top of his eyes. his character in the early films is very young and naive, so I make his pupils pretty large to convey that youth and innocence.

As well, Tony/RDJ has very thick eyelashes (to the point where sometimes it lowkenuinely looks like he’s wearing mascara/eyeliner lol), so I accentuate this by drawing his bottom lashes longer, which conveys his bold, sarcastic attitude as well as his physical features.

MAX’S TIPS FOR WRITING

know your characters. Know your characters inside and out, even if they aren’t your original characters. Honestly, even more so if they aren’t ocs, because that way it’ll be easier to write them in character. I recommend this series on Enneagram theory for writing characters in general. This is my BIBLE. (Also Tony is a type 7 and Peter is a type 2, for those of you who care. And those who don’t.)

motifs are your best friend. I ADORE motifs in writing. If you look at any one thing I’ve written, most often you’ll find a line or an important object that’s introduced at the beginning and then repeated at the end in a different emotional situation, or a concept that keeps popping up at different moments throughout the story. And it’s simple to do; it’s repetition, it’s setup and payoff— but it’s SO effective and helps add structure and impact to your story.

sometimes less is more. I love pretty prose, but in more emotional moments, sometimes simplicity is the best way to go.

you have to feel it. At least for me, the best way to make good writing is really put yourself there. I wish I could explain this tip more, but that’s really the jist of it.

expand your vocabulary. read as much as you can, and if you don’t understand a certain word, look it up and try to incorporate it into your next writing or a conversation you have.

Secondly, I need help on a fic I’m writing. I decided to make this no power college AU fic where Tony started M.I.T. At 16 and is now a junior at 19 when he gets roomed with this very annoying people pleasing 14 year old named Peter. It’s kinda an enemies to besties story. But anyway, in the fic Peter’s dad is alive and is a meanie abuser to Peter which is horrible and Tony eventually finds out.

I can’t have it end in Tony being fine with Peter being abused but since they’re younger he can’t just adopt him so how do I end this??? Please help me cuz I really love this fic and it’s going great but now I’m stressing over the ending :(

here’s my ideas:

Tony could call CPS and get Peter taken away from his evil dad, and then Tony convices his dad, Howard, to legally adopt Peter, just to give him a place to stay, making Tony and Peter essentially brothers. BUT since Howard is the way that he is, Tony does most of the work in terms of looking after Peter (this is why Howard agreed to adopt him in the first place)

Peter runs away and hides out with Tony, essentially just ditching his dad. Tony gets bodyguards to look out for him and make sure he’s safe. Peter’s dad tries to come and get him and Tony goes ballistic and…. there’s a court case??? wait that might go crazy actually
