Review: Etude House Soon Jung Sleeping Pack Panthensoside 5
Product Type/ Target: A sleeping pack to soothe sensitive skin and provide a moisture barrier.
Star Ingredients: panthenol (humectant), asiaticoside, madecassic ccid, madeacssoside (all 3 ingredients are good for wound-healing and anti-aging) – full ingredients here.
Scent + Texture: No/ very mild scent. White with a creamy texture that dries matte. When you wash your face in the morning, you can sometimes feel the film it has formed overnight to seal in the moisture as you wash it off.
Room for improvement: None really. If I wanted to nitpick, I'd say that I've noticed the Soon Jung toner has the wound-healing centella-derived ingredients higher up on the ingredients list (madecassoside at #6) compared to this product (asiaticoside at #23 and the rest further down). So I'm wondering if it would be possible to include higher concentrations in this sleeping pack as well (but I'm no chemist).
Performance: Very gentle! I use a vitamin A acne gel (Tactuo) that makes my skin more irritated, red, and sensitive than usual, but this sleeping pack has helped a lot. After 2 weeks of use, I’ve noticed a decrease in the redness around my chin and nose. Blemishes that form don’t progress to red, irritated bumps and they heal faster than normal. As the last step in my night routine, this sleeping pack also does a good job of sealing in my moisturizer and everything else underneath.
Tips: A little goes a long way. I use about a pea-size amount for my entire face, focussing on my red and dry spots (around the nose and chin for me).
