The dragon called out, hoping he at least was.  Usually when beings stopped in front of her master’s vacation home.  They were either waiting for someone, and decided to stop in front of the gate.  Or they were genuinely lost.

“I have no evidence of your attempts to ‘become a better person’,” Data countered. “And I could not leave you with the Borg, as they were dissatisfied with your dictatorship. You were also attempting to manipulate me and wrongly imprisoned several Starfleet officers which is against Federation law.” There were many reasons Data had thought deactivating his brother was the best choice. He was prepared to reason, but he felt he had already expressed this.

“I could ask you the same. You resemble my father, though he at least tries to be civil. I can only guess you’re one of the clones made from him.”

“I ain’t gonna try anythin’, though. Ya got nothin’ to worry about from me.”

        “i’m told you’re ready to talk.” well, maybe that’s not quite the right word. more like, not shouting obscenities and threats directed at the reclamation project’s director. hugh had had no interest in engaging with the android in that state, but if he’d finally calmed down... he’d be more willing to listen. to talk. because despite the... complicated feelings he has toward picard, he learned a lot about diplomacy and leadership from the human. and he carries that with him even now. “how are you doing? i trust our romulan hosts are treating you decently? i will have harsh words with them if not.”
