Odhran stood waiting for Irial at the entrance to the park. It was as far as Feardorcha could get him, and even that had been risky. The pale fey clutched a small carpet bag to his chest, the only thing with him besides the kimono on his back, and tried not to cry. "Please, are you the one to take me?"
It was just starting to grow dark, and the shadows surrounding the park intensified. This was not a good time for any solitary fey to be wandering around, not when Irial had important dealings to complete. When he noticed the boy, he hurried his steps, placing an accommodating smile on his face. "You do not ask that so easily to anyone else, darling," he warned the boy, fighting the urge to lick his lips as he tasted the other's emotions. "But yes, I am the one to keep you safe. I trust Feardorcha is already...occupied."
