songbite asked:Â *puts a flower in his hair* :]
It wasnât often Kaeya would get peace like this. Everything felt calm, serene. Recently, heâd come to find that this peace graced him more than usual when with Aweriâs company. Although he hadnât particularly voiced this, but there had often been times, too, where heâd sought him out, finding himself missing him, almost. His want had been laced behind teases and Aweri had met those back equally which had pleasantly surprised him. It was too far and too few that Kaeya would come to genuinely appreciate anotherâs company, despite how much he wanted it. He was lost in these thoughts, allowing himself to at least be a little self aware, whilst laying on the open grass, the breeze nice and cool. There neednât have been much said between them. It was a silence that Kaeya welcomed with open arms, something both warm and gentle. A lot like Aweri himself, Kaeya thought.
But then the Miqoâte placed something in his hair whilst his eyes were closed, and Kaeya opened them, a hand slowly reaching to the top of his head. There was something velvety-soft there. Kaeya smoothed a finger gingerly over its surface before his smile slowly grew wider. A flower. Of course.
âOh? Feeling extra affectionate today, are we?â
How very much like Aweri. And how it made his chest sting, just a bit. No, not much had been said between them. Nothing much at all. And this time, Kaeya didnât like it. But who was he to say anything? That was a thorn he refused to pluck from his side. There were many words lodged at the back of his throat, almost enough to suffocate him completely. But Kaeya only smiled with a bit more warmth than usual. He reached to pluck a flower from beside his thigh, slotting its stick slowly into Aweriâs hair in return, just behind his ear. âThere now, we match. I did think you always suited flowers. Very dashing.â Yet, despite how lighthearted he remained, there was a hidden wanting. But what Aweri didnât know couldnât hurt this peace that the two of them had created.
