Day 14 #inktober - #Overgrown

Son Bra’s power has overgrown most of the z fighters.

I would of drawn something else today, I had a lot of things that I needed to take care of to so, I’m posting a Study drawing that I did a few days ago. The character is son bra from DB Multiverse.

I only recently got back to this franchise, after a long absence.

And I guess I am one of those, who wished for a strong female protagonist, that actually mattered. It’s one of the many problems I had with this franchise. (Don’t get me wrong! It’s fun and entertaining to watch, but when it comes to lore and character priorities, it kinda falls flat for me overall.)

In any case, I have wished for a strong, female main character for a long time.

Personally, I liked Pan. But all of her potential has gone to waste and she was reduced to a mere meat-shield. Which is aggravating.

Now one thing “Dragon Ball Super“ did right (and there ain’t a lot it did right IMO), is to FINALLY introduce a Female Super Saiyan.

I even read the massive fan comic/manga “Dragon Ball Multiverse“ recently and fell in love with the character “Son Bra“ (I know the name is stupid, but everything else about her is awesome).

Unfortunately, there is one thing all three girls have in common: They are the most HATED characters of the anime/manga they star in!

In GT, everyone hates Pan. In Super, everyone hates Caulifla. And in Multiverse everyone hates Alternate Bra! Which absolutely baffles me!

I mean I can kinda understand the issue with Pan, and I agree that she could’ve been handled so much better. But I don’t understand the stigma against Caulifla and even less for Bra in Multiverse.

I mean seriously, Bra has been a badass so far. Why do people hate her so much?!

I have seen little to no comments speaking positively about these characters. It’s always “She’s annoying/useless“ (Pan), “She is insufferable. Hope she gets murdered by SSB Vegeta!“ (Caulifla) and “She is a cocky bitch. Hope she gets killed by (insert character here)“ (Bra Multiverse).

And I don’t understand why people are so against these characters. It almost looks like most “Dragon Ball“ Fans are against female heroes in general. But of course, that claim might go a little too far.

Again, I can somewhat understand the issue with Pan. But personally, I see it more as a case of “Missed/Wasted Potential“, and not as “Waste of Character Space“. But as for Caulifla and Son Bra... I’ve got nothing. Don’t get the hatred these characters receive, at all!
