Cassadee couldn’t believe this was her life.  Things had been going well and while she worried something bad would eventually happen, for now...she was happy.  And today they were telling their daughter who Kearne really was.  That he was the little girl’s father.  Rolling over in the bed, she traced her fingertips over his chest, smiling as she watched him sleep.  

She played with her fingers some and looked around the restaurant. She hadn’t seen him yet, but he may have been there somewhere out of her vision.

Wyatt knew what he was doing. He had to strip to afford to live and that meant he had to be ruthless when it came to what he was doing, even if it meant the downfall of others, poaching clients and customers so that he could get more money. Back in their dressing room he could feel the eyes of another boy.

Wyatt wasn’t supposed to summon anything. Not a demon, especially. Fuck. He was supposed tap into a source of power, not conjure up a powerful demon, but he couldn’t exactly go back now. Perhaps the book has mislead him. Perhaps that was the very purpose of the book, to trick. Even though all the candles ceased to light anymore, he the minimal light from the window accented the shape of a man. Or what looked like a human, anyway. He withdrew from the circle. “Who are you?”
