being aroace is so funny sometimes bc people will come up with any conceivable excuse to believe you’re in a relationship. my grandma is convinced that Something Is Going On between me and my close male friend… who is 7 years older than me… who I met when I was 13… idk what on earth she thinks is happening? no, he’s not into me, that would be incredibly weird, yes, I know that for sure, BECAUSE I ASKED, because that was actively terrifying for me for years— whatever, she won’t believe it. waiting for her to ask with fear in her voice whether I’m gay for my bff. god forbid a girl not have hobbies
