but WOW this is a good hc. like. woagh. your brain is actually so huge. my main headcanon for quote & curly is sorta the opposite, where they (alongside all of the other robot soldiers) were artificially created, but given some sort of programmed-in conscience/emotions, sorta like the plot of the vocaloid song Kokoro? so the robots could act on their own instead of needing to be programmed how to do things in specific situations...
