During Victim's village days (which I will be calling his farmer days for the sake of the old theory), a sheep is present in virtually every step of his journey. And with it, it brings a little more depth to Victim's story as it progresses.
When he first escaped from Alan's PC, the first thing he came across (other than Mitsi) was the shepherd tending his sheep, which he almost crashed into.
There's also sheep shown in the infamous teaser from the newsletter...
And that makes sense. Victim was living in the countryside with a shepherd-inspired character around. Of course there would be sheep around.
But then you see the sheep that followed him throughout his early/pre-ChoDark Rocket Corp days.
Typically, sheep have no place in your typical up-and-coming small business. But in Victim's case, it shows how he clings onto the purity and innocence of his farmer days, even as he's working his way up in the world. It was a tie to his roots- not the traumatic ones he'd incurred from Alan- but the past he chose for himself with Mitsi. This is also supported by the fact that many of his employees were also villagers.
He'd been through hell and back during his time with Alan, yes. He'd been hurt... but he's healing, slowly. A supportive village, a successful company, and most of all, Mitsi, and it's shown through the presence of sheep throughout his backstory.
He was able to move on, to an extent, over those four years. And then, of course, Chosen and Dark just had to ruin it.
The last sheep that appears is right after Mitsi dies and before Victim finds out about Chosen's "involvement" in Mitsi's death (I am an avid believer that Chosen was actually flying down to save her but was too late... but that's a rant for next time). It lets out a sad 'baa' to mourn the death of 'farmer' Victim.
When Victim turns vengeful, there are no sheep to be found.
When Sec and Cho get captured, there are no sheep to be found.
When Cho is tortured, there are no sheep to be found.
The loss of his ties to his old peaceful life symbolizes his change in mindset, casting aside whatever innocence and happiness he'd found for the sake of revenge. And the fact that all his new workers look the same is just another hammer in the coffin.
(I have a headcanon that the workers of Rocket Corp aren't actually all the same shade of gray- it's just how Victim sees them. They're all inconsequential pawns in his revenge plan and his obsession with Alan and Chosen make them all look the same to him: lifeless and without any personality. I would love a scene at the end of the arc where Victim starts to see them for who they truly are, as a parallel to the mouse cursors -> sticks scene when they first meet the villagers)

You know, Martin is right to set his boundaries on not wanting to hear the spookiness. But that doesn't mean Jon doesn't still need to talk to someone about it. You know who he might?
Daisy.
Daisy who has gone through the terror. Who is a monster at the moment tearing through the world. Daisy that was there for him in his lowest moments in season 4. Daisy, his Daisy.
There is a myth in media that your partner has to be the person you put everything on. Sometimes they can't, and they shouldn't have to, and while your friends aren't your therapists, they can be there for you when you need it.
Idk, even if it's not canon, I really love the idea that Jon and Daisy have their relationship where they understand elements of each other that Martin can't, but Jon and Martin still being in a healthy, loving relationship. They cant be everything for each other and that's okay. It's good actually. It leaves them all as more rounded people.

i didn’t cry while watching cmbyn until the very last line of the film. elio wallows in his heartbreak and cries over oliver for 4 straight minutes while the credits roll. then his mom calls him by his name until he turns his head away from the camera. what got to me was that elio no longer went as “oliver”, he was “elio” again. the line snaps him out of his grief for a moment and reminds him that he is going to have to get used to being himself again. they are no longer one entity with interchangeable names, they are separate people who went their separate ways. oliver is gone now, and so is elio’s connection with him.
