We Could've Been Less Chaotic
One Shot Pairing: Johnny 'Soap' Mactavish x OC Jeanz O'Riley
Rated: E for Everyone
Johnny had woken up needing water, so he pulled on a shirt and some random pajama pants on his floor, leaving his room and making his way to the rec room in the 141âs wing of the base, expecting it to be empty. His footsteps were muffled by the carpet as he made his way, rubbing his blue eyes, mumbling something in Scottish under his breath, not really wanting to be awake at the moment. As he got closer to the rec room, he could faintly hear humming. He paused for a moment, his half awake brain trying to process what he was hearing exactly. Thatâs when the smell of baking cookies hit his nose, making him perk up and wake up a bit. Who would be up at this time? Baking? He stepped closer to the door, peeking through to see who was in there. A fond smile crossed his lips as he caught sight of the redhead in the kitchen portion of the rec room, moving about as if it was natural for her to be there. Jeanz was a sergeant they had on loan from the Irish Special Forces, someone Laswell had recommended to Price. Johnny had been surprised by how easily he had connected with the Irish spitfire, he had expected someone that would be cut off and more like Ghost when he heard her callsign, Whisper. They had also both assumed it was a male. Imagine their surprise when Price had told them Whisper would be coming in to help with the new mission, only for a short redhead woman had shown up, with one of the feistiest attitudes they had seen in a while. Johnny had immediately hit it off with her, starting multiple conversations with her, and even the occasional pranks with her. He knew he was gaining feelings for her, but he didnât think it was anything more serious than a simple crush. With a grin, he walked in, clearing his throat, his blue eyes glinting with humor as she jumped, having been so into the baking she was doing atâŠmidnight he concluded when he glanced at the clock on the oven.
âCannae sleep, hen?â he asked as he made his way over to her, his tone holding amusement. âAye,â she answered him with a shrug and a smile as she got over the mini heart attack she had from him coming in, she hadnât expected anyone to come in, it was late after all. âSo, ye decided ta make cookies ta feed an entire village?â he teased as he stopped beside her, looking down at her with a raised eyebrow. âYe gonna judge me or help?â she countered, raising her own eyebrow, though a smile was tugging at her lips. Johnny shrugged and turned to face the counter where she had more ingredients laid out, eyeing all of them curiously. âNothinâ better ta do,â he responded with a grin. Jeanz let out a snort and began to instruct him on how to start making the cookies she had been baking, taking time to show him how her gran taught her. When he messed up, she would giggle and move closer, showing him slowly what he should do. It went on like that for a while, though Soap kept imagining how she would look covered in the white flour they were using to mix the cookie dough with. Eventually, he couldnât help it anymore, he needed to make that image a reality. When Jeanz turned away to grab some more chocolate chips, he grabbed a handful of flour, his blue eyes watching her intently, a mischievous grin on his lips. As she turned back to speak to him, he let the flour in his closed hand go, watching with a sense of satisfaction as it ended up covering her beautiful face, along with her pretty red hair. âNĂ dhearna tĂș ach anchĂșinse Ă© sin a dhĂ©anamh, a Scot diabhalf,â she whispered in a low tone, her hazel eyes narrowing up at him with disbelief.
Johnny couldnât do anything but laugh at the sight in front of him. She was so adorable covered in flour and trying to look mad, but he could see the giggle she was trying to hold back, could see her lips fighting the urge to quirk up into a grin. God, she looked so kissable in this moment. While he was distracted, he didnât notice that she had grabbed some flour herself, nor the wicked grin that had come to her face. He only noticed, when she had flung the flour at him, coating his shirt, his face and some of his pajama pants. He let out a irritated noise, even if he wasnât that mad, grabbing the bag of flour off the counter. Jeansâs eyes widened as she saw him grab the bad, holding her hands in front of her and shaking her head, but it was useless. Johnny let out a cackle, his eyes glinting with playfulness. Without a second thought, he tipped the bag of flour over, directly on top of the shorter woman, who let out a shriek of disbelief. After that, it was a full on flour war. Jeanz had grabbed another two bags, opening them and just tossing the contents at Soap. They were both covered in white by the time they heard footsteps. Price had been up late doing paperwork, like usual, when he decided he needed a cuppa. So, he made his way to the rec room, only to stop in the doorway. His blue eyes took in the sight before him, holding back the grin that wanted to escape him. There in front of his eyes were Jeanz and Soap, completely covered in flour, both of them giggling and laughing, wide grins on each of their faces. He could smell the fresh cookies that Jeanz had made before Soap showed up, but he couldnât be mad. It was always refreshing when he happened upon his soldiers acting like they werenât fighting in a war. Even if one of them wasnât technically his, but since he had known Jeanz father, she was his soldier anyways. âWhatâs going on âere then?â he spoke up, holding back a chuckle as he saw them jump and begin to try and make excuses. @backseatsoldier
