Toshi was different than home, that's for certain. The weather was warmer, more pleasant here, whereas back home it was chilly, more rigid. It took a lot of convincing from his mother to let him go but here he was on his own! It was freedom, it was great, and he honestly couldn't imagine it any other way.
He walks pasts stores and restaurants until eventually he finds himself at a playground with children. Lucas watches them playing and running around until a group of the small children caught his eye. Huh? They were all huddled around a sandbox, pouring sand on what seemed to be a quivering puppy. Already on his first day and Toshi was leaving a terrible taste on his tongue.Â
"Say, how about you let onii-chan take care of the bird, hm?" Walking up to them and scaring them a bit, the children back off as he cradled the pup in his arms. "Next time you see a puppy, make sure to call someone, ne?"
Briskly, he walks off with puppy in hand, going a nearby pet store to retrieve an aid kit, blatantly ignoring the employees before returning back out to a park to nurse it back to health. He cleans him up and inspects him for any injuries, only to wrap him in a blanket when the puppy seemed alright.Â
"...kids are brats anyway and even if I'm no better, you don't have to worry all too much. I'll make sure you find a good home since your own master seems to not care enough to let you wander out."Â
Lucas continues to focus on the pup, not even noticing he might have company.Â
