βββ "it's gonna be a blast, dude, i'm telling you," doyun asserts, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he and callum make their way to callum's car. doyun doesn't drive, doesn't remember ever being behind a wheel, if he's honest. but he doesn't mind being someone's passenger princess, whether or not they enjoy it. "especially for your old ass. what's more exciting than drinks and bingo? i'm not drinking wine, by the way," he says, slipping into the passenger seat before callum can complain. "i'm not a wine mom."
inside the car, doyun kicks his feet up on the dash without thinking and starts spinning his phone around between his fingers for lack of something better to do. the thing looks like a brick anyways, which is ironic if you ask him, considering insu called his old phone a brick when he tossed it out the fourth floor window. which, well, maybe insu's got a point with that one because it does still work. it just wasn't a 'smartphone' or whatever the hell those things were called.
either way, doyun leans out of the window and looks back at callum. he asks, "are you coming, dude? all the good drinks are gonna be gone if you don't hurry up."

intended for : callum park ( @solstitios ) setting : outside the fire station details : word association is something of a love language .
there were few things so symphonic to sulyeon as the turning of book pages , and it was the soundtrack to her every day spent poring over literary masterpieces when she attended her shift at the book nook . she'd read anything , but she always seemed to gravitate more towards poetry . the theme she connected with would shift from day to day depending upon what mood she was in or what was going on in her life , but the right vibrant flow of words could alter the course of her very week .
it was a gift sulyeon liked to spread around if she was able , taking great pride in handing off books to people she cared about for the simple reason that it reminded her of them . the topic that seemed to be sticking out more than anything else to her these days was ' fire ' . it was an interesting element ; destructive and reckless but also warm and inspiring . it spurned people to do the impossible , it stoked passion and love but it could also incinerate the life out of anything . for sulyeon , it was simply a trigger to pull whenever she wanted the comforting idea of callum park to take shape in her mind .
even as her feet , often moving through the city of ansong without much input from her , carried her towards the fire station he was employed at , the thought of him put her at ease . confident fingers inched along the outline of the book of poems in her bag as she came upon the building , hoping to catch sight of him outside .
it wasn't as though they'd had many interactions β on the contrary . sulyeon really didn't know any further than his name and occupation and that he happened to be her next door neighbor . she couldn't remember precisely when he'd moved in , but ever since he had , she couldn't deny that her curiosity was piqued . the energy he carried seemed dynamic and inviting ; something about him seemed so alive amongst the almost too tranquil and idyllic ansong . it left her wondering strange things like if his hands were more roughly textured due to his work or if his skin was warm , unlike hers which always felt cool to the touch .
soft eyes scanned the business front until she found his face , lip corners instinctively twitching upward as she adjusted a sundress made in a bygone era before making her way over to him . " hey ! i hope you don't mind me dropping by . i found a poem at work that made me think of you , " she recited proudly , not at all shy or embarrassed about this revelation . " i know it's close to lunchtime , so i thought maybe we could grab something , my treat ? " she tosses out the invitation as she fiddles with curls being stolen by the breeze . " it's just a short little thing , it won't take much time , i promise ! " as the deal is sweetened , fingers busy themselves with the hem of her dress and eyes linger on his face in preparation for a response .
