“Growing up, Soleil always felt... different. Their tight-knit town, run by their mother, had a no-nonsense policy on anything that looked or felt like something other than them. Strict social rules were put into place that forbade any uniqueness, and Soleil suffered. Being a sorcerer in a town like this was no walk in the park, especially when their magic is directly linked to their emotions. And Soleil has a bunch of those. There were many times when their mother had to urge them to hide their powers, differences, and eccentricities to appear like the "normal" folk they encountered. Deep inside, they longed to be somewhere they would finally feel free.

That wish gets granted when Soleil gets abducted by the Mind Flayers. They are overwhelmed with the feeling of freedom, and their magic starts to reveal itself, easier than it did before. They decide to take this alien-kidnapping-journey-thing to their advantage and use it to find out why they have these powers. As their journey progresses, they learn to love their magic (and by extension, themself) with the help of their friends (especially, a certain white-haired vampire).”

I’ve been consumed with BG3 brainworms since before I got the game and now that I’m finished with my first play through, I wanna start writing more about my Tav, Soleil!!

Some More Things About Them:

- They wear a binder

- They’re kinda weird

- Their father and their biological mother were aliens from outer space and that’s why Soleil has their powers. They had no clue about this until they went on the adventure and researched more about their powers. Turns out the mother they’ve known for their whole life wasn’t actually their mother. She killed Soleil’s father as well as the entire family leaving Soleil as a kind of trophy. And before the whole thing with the mind flayers, she had essentially been holding Soleil hostage to harness their powers and use them for her own nefarious purposes.
