Diary of a solo studier.
I would like to precede this entry with the fact that I ask my friends to study with me. I do not study alone by choice. Sometimes it just happens to be that way.
This is my least favourite thing about studying in the library alone: what can you do when you need to grab a snack or go to the bathroom? Absolutely nothing. You can’t leave your items behind. If you step away from it, you’re basically creating a situation equivalent to leaving a couch on your front lawn with a “for free” sign.
Sure you could ask someone near you to watch your stuff, but if your like me and you've had one to many things stolen from you, you think twice before trusting a stranger. And in the mornings when there isn't really anyone around to watch your stuff, just the occasional walk by that could grab it and go. This phenomenon is also possible in other public places like coffee shops and airports. The only solution, pack up all your stuff and abandon your cushy position in this universe. Its time to relieve yourself and come back to try and reassert yourself in the niche of humans.
