I return to the last working creative bar in Seattle. Actors. Musicians. Dancers. Crew. @solobarseattle is as old as time itself, ran by a old rocker who talks about the 90s movement IF he knows you...IF he trusts you. . I practice tarot, just to sharpen my skills and understand the syntax. I remember being here when I worked the TV and theater circuit...before I went into voice acting. Now, I'm back...which means I'm ready for the camera again. I am quietly shocked by this, by joyful as I sit in the same seat I settled in years ago. Another life ago. . I'm approached by Simon, who asks for a reading. I do. He offers me a drink. I decline. The reading becomes painful. He asks me to stop. I do that, too. . "...How do I find you? If I want another reading?" . I scribble a single '@' to my IG page. I've sworn off giving my phone number to anyone now. I smile as I leave. If anyone wants to find me, they will. There is only one @cakeniron in Seattle. In the world. . I'm not being difficult on purpose; I'm just at a time in my life that I'm actually enjoying it. Actually living. Actually reaching. Actually being my authentic self without interruption, outside influence, opinions, obligations and fences. For the first time in my life I am free; I feel like I have the world at my fingertips. . And if a relationship comes my way, I want it to elevate me first before it elevates 'us'. Selfish, maybe...but I spent nearly four decades as a humble doormat, so now it's my turn. .
