“Because  you’ve  folded  the  same  blanket  three  times  now.”  It  looked  like  a  new  blanket,  probably  one  that  Skywalker  had  bought  for  Grogu  if  he  had  to  guess,  if  only  because  it  seemed  like  Skywalker  was  forever  buying  things  for  Grogu  and  nothing  for  himself.  Sure,  he  could  have  been  using  the  kid  as  an  excuse  to  buy  himself  things,  but  Din  doubted  it.

Stepping  forward,  he  reached  out  slowly  to  take  the  blanket  from  Skywalker’s  hands,  careful  not  to  touch  him.  Din’s  gloves  kept  him  from  feeling  the  weave  of  the  blanket,  but  it  was  thick  and  unquestionably  warm,  good  for  the  nights  that  were  steadily  dipping  to  lower  temperatures  as  what  passed  for  winter  crept  up  on  the  planet.  Setting  it  to  the  side,  Din  turned  his  attention  back  to  Skywalker,  unsure  if  his  questioning  would  lead  to  anything  useful,  but  wanting  to  try.  

Every step taken was light, one foot placed after the other along the familiar dirt path he treaded on nights that he could momentarily escape. It’d been for the same purpose, but he’d exchanged the quiet hobby of looking up in wonder at the sky for something with a challenge. At least, it was for Eron. He’d managed to acquire a training remote—the easiest part—and a spare lightsaber. The latter involved a few extra measures to get than simply rummaging through a storage chest.

He recalled the moves taught at the academy from past observations; the basics, like getting into correct stance and knowing how not to put a strain on your wrists were crucial for any learner; the more advanced lessons required a shrewd coordination between sight and mind. 

Away from judging eyes, pressure had ceased to exist. Here, he could train himself to wield the weapon as a means to both defend and offend. With a careful grasp around the metal hilt, he ignited the lightsaber, its glow of azure blade spilling across his features. He waved it in a steady right-left-right arc, trying to adjust to the weight. It wasn't the first time he held such an iconic symbol, though it would be a terrible lie to say this was making him feel something other than the ordinary.
