The first mission that the squad was to take part in took place in Bangalore, India

It started off simple enough. The mission was to exterminate any hostile alien lifeforms within the area and to recover the meld canisters, if possible. The squad separated into two groups. Squaddies Andrew with Mario took point while Rookies Lizette and Nicholas followed and took cover not to far away

Andrew found the first canister and moved in to acquire it while the rest of the team went into position. Lizette and Mario were the only ones to prepared to take a shot if any aliens were spotted.

Not only did Andrew spot the canisters, he also spotted three small aliens hiding within the building. They were sectoids! Although they were the stereotypical image of aliens, these things should not be underestimated. Especially since they were armed with plasma pistols that could easily kill any of the soldiers there.

Mario readied himself as he aimed his rifle at the aliens who scurried for cover. He pulled the trigger as one of the sectoids got behind cover, seeing the wall behind it being painted in its blood told the squad that Mario’s shot hit its mark. Lizette moved in to take a shot at the other alien, her shot also connected with her target but she was not able to kill it.

The alien retaliated by firing at Mario, but its aim was not as steady as it should have been due to the wounds that Lizette had inflicted on it. It was Lizette’s turn to return fire, she pulled the trigger and finished off her original target.

Two more sectoids were spotted by Lizette as Mario was reloading his rifle. They took cover behind some desks but were unable to get a clear shot on the humans.

Lizette charged in to finish off the alien hiding behind the computers on the desk, a quick burst from her rifle finished it off.

Mario would have killed the other one but Nick took the initiative. He got into position to and made one of the luckiest throws in his career. He tossed his grenade through a window and through a closed door, it then bounced right next to the unfortunate sectoid’s feet before it exploded. All of this, without breaking either the window or the door

The humans witnessed what had happened and were stunned by how Nicholas casually made his grenade intangible until it exploded.

Then there’s the fact that Lizette and Mario made killing aliens look incredibly easy.

So with the beginning of a new campaign of this game, I have created the squad

We have Squaddie Mario H., the sniper of the group, He is a Scottish born Hispanic that speaks Italian

Then there is Squaddie Andrew R., the heavy weapons expert. Hailing from Spain but does not speak a single word of the native tongue of his homeland

Then there are the rookies

Rookie Lizette M. She is from the United States of America. She speaks German and has shown an unusually high skill for a rookie when it comes to both marksmanship and in keeping calm in an intense firefight

And finally there is Rookie Nicholas T. who is from Nigeria. He seems to be more interested in helping the group instead of shooting at the aliens. That’s fine, we needed a medic anyway so he will play a very important role within the squad like the rest.

So, I just got back from Canoe House (a hawaiian themed restaurant) and I tried a Hawaiian iced tea...

That thing is strong even though you can’t taste the alcohol in it, too bad I don’t know what’s in it

Secondly, I’ll be starting a campaign in XCOM: Enemy Within. The starting squad will consist of three of my closest friends in college and myself
