Le gasp! Another ask! And another set of answers. ^^ I expounded a lot on the titles one because I know it's a thing you often struggle with.

18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?

Often times, the title is one of the first things I come up with. It usually comes with the initial idea and I think I've just been really lucky with some good titles. Examples of ones that come with the idea: Magic Shuu, Ghosts of Christmas, Kristmas Karma, Life in Retail, Pandora's Box. In other cases, it varies. For Students of Despair, I had to so a little bit of research. I may have written a chapter or two ahead of time, but I knew I wanted it to be recognized as a DR fic, so when I found the alternate title of "Students of Despair" but for some reason they never officially released it as such, it just felt natural to have that as the title. This happens sometimes where I have to do some research, but it's usually pretty early in the process too. There was one fic though, that I named specifically for marketing reasons. Assassin Skills Required is that one. I wanted a title with the word Assassin in it for the AC fandom, but also wanted words that didn't have a lot of hits on AO3 for that fandom. Both "skills" and "required" had less than 5 hits each at the time, so that just sort of fit. I'd determined the title when I went to post the first chapter. I remember wanting my first fic to really stand out in any way I could make happen. There are a couple other one-offs, but if the title doesn't come to me super early in the writing process, then I'll usually wait until I finish or nearly finish it (this has only been for one-shots, not any multi-chapter fics) before determining the title so that I can try and catch the feel of the fic. Examples of this are Ubisoft, While You Can, Seeing Red, and Anything But Chocolate. I do have a small collection of brainstorm ideas that are unnamed in my endless WIP folders, but it's really not that many. As I said, I think I've been really lucky with titles. It doesn't always extend to naming other people's fics (as you know), but I've come up with at least one I thought was really great; Precarious Hearts by @jackiewepps ^^ I'm actually sometimes a little jealous of how good that name is just by itself because it isn't for something I've written, and I think about that name surprisingly often (still need to finish it reading it…) but I also couldn't think of anyone better to have it either. No regrets on that donation.

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

I was once told that I tend to start a lot of chapters with waking up, and while I do have a number, I have a hard time seeing it as a stylistic choice for me specifically as I feel it's quite common in many works of fiction, but there's that. Some patterns I do notice is that I'll describe enough of a room for it to not be "white", but it's rarely enough to get a clear picture of the scene sometimes. Even if you see it less often, I promise you that every time there's a significant amount of description (more than one line or phrase) that I very likely had gone back to add that in. I'm very bad at it. It's the same with describing people. Positions I will describe, but not descriptions of what they actually look like (again, if you see it in a fic, it was probably added after I'd finished the scene/chapter). I actually try hard to not repeat words too close together, but there are words that I tend to use whenever I can. They aren't used "often", but they're also words most authors/writers probably would use more than once or twice in their career. One example of this is the word "plethora". I'm certain I've a handful of them, but this is the only one that comes to mind atm. If I've any other habits, I'm not really privy to it.

22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)

There are povs and genres that are rare for me to do, but I can't off the top of my head think of anything I outright wouldn't do to some capacity or at least consider doing if the idea comes. (I'm always worried about the hot topics and dark themes Gerit has… I don't regret it by any means, I love Gerit, but you know…)

35. What is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain?

Whatever the villain is doing will make complete and logical sense to them. No villain is evil for evil sake without coming off as completely unbelievable, and sadism is not a trait reserved for just villains. Examples: Karma Akabane and Shion Sonozaki.

what do you think they will do before and after getting high?

Okay, sorry I didn't answer this sooner, but I was trying to decide what Nagisa's group was and settled on the group he was in for that one field trip. (I'm lazy and not looking up the details at this moment. :P) Alright, here we go.

To start, Karma's probably the one that has the cannabis, and it would not surprise me if he's been using it recreationally for a while, so he probably just lights it up, and then games all night in his room. No noticeable change in his overall demeanor, but he is probably somewhat slower in his reactions and prefers not to be high anywhere but home because of it.

I imagine Nagisa tries it once, at Karma's behest one night that he stays over, or it started out as just a day thing and becomes staying the night just because Nagisa's mom is crazy and he doesn't want to tip her off what he's been doing. I imagine he attempts to do it Karma style, just game out and chill, but ends up lying down perfectly still for the better part of a few hours. Karma thinks he fell asleep, but actually Nagisa is perfectly aware of everything around him and just enjoying the calmness that's taken over his body. He's probably really tense usually because of his mother, and the high would just evaporate all that tension and he's so at peace, mentally and physically. Once night comes and the high starts to wear off, he "wakes up" and goes to play games with Karma all night, all wishing he could feel that peaceful again. However, I imagine he never ends up doing it again for fear of not having the same reaction twice.

I think Sugino would freak out. I think he'd be nervous knowing about it, nervous trying it, nervous not trying it, just super anxious all around and then when it hits, he just sits there right in front of the TV watching professional snowboarding for hours. He's relatively quiet most of the time, but you can tell his own vertigo is shifting around as he watches because he'll move relatively in time with the snowboarders and then you'll suddenly hear him yelp and lose his balance only to laugh and continue watching snowboarding. When the high dissipates, he considers getting into snowboarding just because simply experiencing it on TV was so fun. Probably never actually goes for it though. XD

Okay, so, Okuda is probably the cutest. She decides to try it one day (because of Karma, we're just gonna go with Karma being the dealer XD) for science and her parents are probably cool with it (because science!) and everyone just sort of finds Okuda's life unbelievable because of how okay every one is with it when the assumption would be that she'd never touch the stuff under any circumstance. During her experience, her texture senses are super hyped up and she often gets very particular cravings for textures, such as a particular fluffy blanket that is super comfy and surprisingly cool and she just rubs her face on it for hours, or she goes out on a hunt for gummy ropes with gusher fillings despite hating cavity finding sweets or really, just anything she wants at that particular moment. She's goofy and funny and looks at things in the strangest light, and for her, she'll get really high off of very little and it'll last the better part of the entire weekend. (So she's super efficient!) The kicker is though that she almost never remembers most of it, so she probably keeps coming back once a month to "redo the experiment" only to still not remember anything and for everyone around her to be monumentally entertained. XD

Kanzaki tries it in her rebellious phase and absolutely hates her experience. Unfortunately, she doesn't get high, she gets sick, and it lasts for 48 hours and is impervious to pain meds, so she finds other ways to rebel against her family that doesn't include drugs. By the time she comes across Karma, she politely turns him down and makes it seem like it's "beneath her" when in actuality, she's terrified of going through such an experience ever again.

Kayano is I think the most interesting. She claims she doesn't feel high and for all intents and purposes, doesn't appear so either, but her high just lets her slip into her real self and makes her spill her real thoughts, especially angry ones. She is incapable of "acting" while under the influence and it's one of the few times she's really and truly herself, and she can be terrifying when spouting off all the things she wants to do to Yanagisawa for what he did to her sister. She makes this a very personal thing if/when she chooses to be high, because she doesn't want others to know who she really is, but also finds it really insightful, so I imagine she does it a couple of times a year or so. No one knows how she got a hold of it in the first place and the only one that's seen the real her is Fuwa. Mostly, Kayano just vents during the high and that's it. She doesn't actually do anything otherwise. Oh, and the munchies probably hit her the hardest, which is why she'd only return to this at most three times in a single year.
