1. Zexion was thoroughly confused when seeing Roxas for the first time. He looked just like Ventus, but he wasnât like him--not from the memory Ienzo had of said Keybladian, at least. This was one of the tipping points for Zexionâs loyalty towards Xemnas. Something strange was afoot, and they couldnât place it. Thankfully, they found out, but much later--when going through Ansem the Wiseâs data after being recompleted.Â
2. They gave Roxas a fermented fish as a gift for a couple of reasons. The first was to test him, to see what sort of personality he had, what his reaction was. The second was to show him that they could be trusted--with what, they hoped to find out later. They tended to play the long game, and tried to build trust before it was needed.
3. After they first met Roxas again, Ienzo started researching sign language. Itâs a slow process, but theyâre learning. They are determined to teach themself without much outside assistance--just like they learned English and Latin.
4. At the masquerade ball, Roxas did truly catch them off guard by calling them pretty. They still donât know why. Itâs not like they hadnât been called pretty before. Though, it didnât usually happen when they appeared as themself wearing clothing that didnât fit their assigned gender. Part of them is considering coming out to Roxas at some point. The other half of them says they canât trust him that much yet--and that half is currently winning.
1. Zexion didnât trust Marluxia one bit. That in itself was rather standard for them. However, they found it odd that he was the third recruitment with memory loss. To them, that meant Marluxia was hiding something.Â
2. Ienzo still doesnât trust Lauriam, but they donât otherwise have an issue with him. He did not try to directly kill them, and his rebellion turned out to be for the better.
3. His past will likely blow their mind--or, at least pique their curiosity. Their knowledge of the Keyblade War is limited, and they will likely pump him for information so they can document it.
4. When doing missions with Marluxia, Zexion let him do most of the combat, and kept their distance. They werenât one for conversation during mission assignments, and usually wrote their mission report as they went.
1. When Vexen began his research into replicas, Zexion offered assistance here and there. As it was Vexenâs project, they did not want to interfere too much. They mostly acted as someone to bounce ideas and theories off of. They didnât make much of Rei upon him coming into existence--not until Castle Oblivion.
2. In Castle Oblivion, Zexion decided it was best to keep a mostly hands-off approach to Rei. They did not want to confuse him, and decided Vexen being his main authority figure would work out well enough. Vexenâs death left them in a bit of a predicament in this regard. Combined with Marluxiaâs rebellion, and their suspicion Axel was a traitor, they had their hands full. Had they thought more clearly, they would have instructed Lexaeus to keep the Replica close.Â
3. Zexion never referred to any of the replicas, including Rei, as an it. They tended to stick to using titles like âthe Riku Replicaâ or neutral pronouns (as seen in their interaction with him and Axel).Â
4. Rei never scared them until after their battle with Riku. Even then, it was just his appearance that caught Zexion off-guard. Once their senses kicked in, they realized he was the replica. However, as soon as Axel started to speak, dread kicked in. To this day, they still remember how Rei looked at them, how he didnât say a word, how quickly he acted on Axelâs command. Their last memory of Castle Oblivion became part of their nightmare collection. As of now, Ienzo has mixed emotions regarding Rei: angry at being used, angry at Lea for killing them that way, terrified that history would repeat (and/or how their nightmares play out), and upset that they felt so helpless.
