Most people who eat meat don’t do it because they find animal cruelty funny. In fact most eat meaters (like myself) don’t even wanna know where the meat comes from or how is it produced. cause it makes us feel guilty. Of course there are assholes who like to make fun of the animal abuse that happens in the meat industry, and make fun of vegans, and proclaim their love for meat like it is something to be proud of, like they were somehow manlier than everyone else because they see a little piggy and say ‘oh how tasty turn it into bacon’. They’re obnoxious. I think vegans deserve praise, not ridicule.

But watching an annimal suffer is not the motivation to eat meat. eating meat is the motivation, animal abuse is just collateral damage. That’s the difference.

I couldn’t be friends with someone who gets a laugh out of an animal’s distress, I simply couldn’t, it’s too psychopatic, too heartless. And that’s what I expressed in the post I made. 

It was in reaction of a photoset of a scorpion being tied to a balloon and made to fly across a room, after being reportedly proded and poked repeatedly in an attempt to anger it. 

Sincerely, a photoset of a person eating a roasted scorpion wouldn’t have upset me so much. 

It’s the enjoyment of the suffering itself what irks me.

I hope you don’t mind if I post this publicly. I have not had that experience. Mostly because I have a hard time finding girls who would want to date me, but also because I surround myself with strong Christian friends.

I've had a couple. One of them I don't really interact with much anymore but he's in the religious studies department and he teaches classes that deal with philosophy. He used to be my favorite but for some reason I feel like he's not as talented as he could be. It just feels like we're on the same playing field when we talk.
