Once again our friends at iSeeCars, have crunched some data to find out which SUVs are likely to be kept for 15 years or more. This year’s list doesn’t look terribly different than the one from last year and is basically dominated by only two brands.
The SUV that people keep the longest is the Toyota Highlander. When analyzing the list to determine the SUVs people keep the longest, iSeeCars identified 12 vehicles that were at least 1.1 times greater than the vehicle category average for the vehicle category. Eleven of the top vehicles are Japanese, while the remaining vehicle is Korean.
The top seven SUVs on the list are all Japanese vehicles that also appear on the overall list of vehicles owners are most likely to keep for 15 years or more, and four of the remaining five vehicles are also Japanese while the ninth-ranked Hyundai Santa Fe stands out as the lone Korean vehicle.
Ranked tenth is the Mitsubishi Outlander. As an owner of the Mitsubishi Outlander GT, the feature-packed vehicle really delivers combined with the affordability it offers.
For less than $35,000 you get a 3.0L V6 AWD SUV that utilizes a modified version of Mitsubishi’s amazing Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) AWD system from the highly popular Mitsubishi Evo. The SUV can seat 5 passengers comfortably but has the ability to carry up to 7 passengers.
It comes with all the bells and whistles, and a whole slew of tech features from LED adaptive headlights to Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to the 360-degree birds-eye camera, as well as features such as forward collision mitigation, and lane departure.
