Soft Proofing for Print
SOFT PROOFINGÂ
> Open image in Photoshop
> Go to edit - Colour settings, make sure colour profile is sRGB IEC61966-21, Engine is set to Adobe (Ace) and intent is perceptual.
> Open the view menu - click chosen output profile.
> Select perceptual and tick the black point compensation.
> Save as PSF - Rename
> Apply gamut warning
> Image will then be displayed as a representation of how the final print will look.
*First image is without soft proofing applied, last image is with the above settings.*

1. OPEN IMAGE IN PHOTOSHOPÂ
2. GO TO EDIT - COLOUR SETTINGS AND MAKE SURE THE COLOUR PROFILE IS sRGB IEC61966-2.1, ENGINE IS ADOBE (ACE) AND INTENT IS PERCEPTUALÂ
3. OPEN THE VIEW MENU AND CLICK ON PROOF SET UP THEN CUSTOMÂ
4. SELECT DEVICE TO SIMULATE AND CLICK THE CHOSEN OUTPUT PROFILEÂ
5. SELECT PERCEPTUAL AND TICK THE BLACK POINT COMPENSATIONÂ
6. SAVE PSF AND RENAMEÂ
7. APPLY GAMUT WARNINGÂ
8. IMAGE WILL DISPLAY AS A REPRESENTATION OF HOW IT WILL LOOK WHEN PRINTEDÂ
FIRST IMAGE IS WITHOUT SETTINGS BEING APPLIED AND LAST IMAGE IS WITH ALL THE SETTINGS APPLIED TO SHOW DIFFERENCE.Â
