I just finished the unbroken and the faithless and I thought your review was very interesting and has a lot of interesting points!! I totally agree that the seemingly unquestioned devotion to there being an inherited lineage is strange but also feel like there's no way the author wouldn't be uncritical of royalty in general... You can't write these books and also think king/queenships are Fine and Good. Do you feel like that would be addressed in the third one?
Given how much my predictions for the second book were off, I don't care to speculate on the third. I will say that neither of the previous books have really dug into the details of governmental structure and statecraft, so I'd be surprised if that changed for the third
