I was just chilling then I realised something: Rex is not going to be ready for the weird stuff kids do sometimes. Like the "Horse Girl Who Constantly Acts Like She's a Horse" phase or "My Child Has a Very Questionable Collection of Random Things and I Don't Know Why They Have Them", just to name a few. I just felt the need to share this with you.
I love this π he'd shrug and be like "ok I guess this is what kids do" after trying to research his child's behavior on his 'pad and coming up blank. Obviously he didn't grow up in an environment that would expose him to the weird phases kids go through but he picks it up quick
"Cyare... I assume this is normal for regular human children"
"Yeah they'll grow out of it eventually"
"Mmmok." But he's thinking to himself "I'm gonna partake :D"
He'd also be super into it for his kids, like, during the collecting of random objects phase he'd actually go out and find shit to add to their collection and would get all giddy if they added it. Like a kid drawing their parents a picture and wanting them to put it on the fridge - that's Rex he's the kid. He'd be super supportive too and would buy them those stick ponies and cowboy hats/boots during the horse phase so they can really get into it. Hell he'd probably get himself a matching pair. Because he's a Good Dad
Rex blowing raspberries on Priya's little tummy to make her giggle. Her laughter making him laugh until the whole house is full of their joy. That's all.
oh my GOD. this is the purest most wholesome thing in the world and it made my night. I MISS THE GAYIYLA FAMILY.
Rex's absolute pride and joy is his baby girl. He created her out of love - she wasn't grown in a tube as he was. He wants to do right by her. He wants to keep her safe, healthy, and happy. He wants to make her laugh because that is the best sound in the galaxy he is sure of it. When he hears her cackle uncontrollably, or even when she's fussing as all babies do, he is only reminded of how far he's come and that everything he wanted long ago had finally come into fruition.
He can't recall ever laughing as hard before as he does now when he's with his wife and baby - real, joyous laughter that makes his abdomen throb as he coughs up a lung trying to recover. Rex is content - growing the yot beans, working with his hands, and caring for his little family on their Dantooine homestead.
