   they'd fallen asleep at the table at some point. scrawling notes upon notes in the margins of a few files, looking up bleary eyes when mobius placed a gentle hand on their back. realizing the notes they’d taken had started out legible and then faded into a pile of runes that ... well. they’d have to figure that out in the morning.

   but that didn’t matter. they weren’t going to sleep until they’d understood the break in the multiverses better. though the way mobius sternly held both hands at loki’s shoulders ( pressing thumbs into tense muscles that almost let an embarrassing noise because of how good it felt ) made them think that mobius was going to force them into bed one way or another.
