“No Jin. There is no way that I’m going to let you off the hook that easily,” you exclaimed. “This is the third time. Third!”
Jin didn’t say anything; he knew he was in the wrong. He had stood you up because of something that was going on in the company. All three times it had been about the company. The simple large red t-shirt was beginning to feel suffocating as you stared at him.
“Look, I understand that you’re busy and that there are things going on. But, I’d appreciate it if you could just be honest with me and tell me that you won’t have time for me instead of getting my hopes of and then letting me down,” you explained.
That hurt him. Of course, he had time for you he just spent it unwisely.
“Babe, I…I’m sorry,” Jin stuttered.
You looked at the ground almost in tears as your fists squeezed the sides of your dress pants. He had really hurt you this time and he knew it. Jin didn’t know why you were this upset though until a ding on his phone told him.
“Our anniversary,” he whispered, barely audible.
He gripped his phone in disbelief. He had forgotten your anniversary, now he understood why you were so upset. He closed his eyes, looked at the ground, and opened them.
“I’m going to sleep on the couch tonight,” you sighed. “Maybe then we can both just have some time to think.”
Those words strike fear into his heart. These three mistakes could cause him to lose you. He couldn’t even speak.
“O-ok,” Jin whimpered.
You made your way upstairs not looking back. You changed into your red plaid pajamas and grabbed a blanket quickly before scurrying back downstairs. Jin was still glued to his spot. He was processing what was going on.
“Jin, go upstairs,” you instructed.
Jin snapped out of his daze and frowned. He was about to say something but the look on your face told him to be quiet. He slowly walked to the stairs and you strained your ears to hear his feet hitting the soft carpet of the steps.
You went to lay down and as you did Jin was getting ready for bed. As he did, a brilliant idea hit him. He quietly tiptoed to the AC and turned it up. He then rushed back to your shared bedroom and began to pile on blanket after blanket on the king-sized mattress. After he was done, he got under and waited.
Meanwhile, you were downstairs freezing. You could have sworn that Mother Nature decided to bring winter right into your home. Lucky for you, you decided to bring the lightest blanket you owned. Great. Your pride kept you from going upstairs to get another one because you kept all the blankets in your shared room. And Jin was the last person you wanted to see.
About half an hour went by and your body won over your pride. You shuffled upstairs and as quietly as you could, walked into the dreaded room.
“Baby?”
You froze. You never thought Jin would be awake. However, you ignored him and walked over to the cabinet where you kept all the covers. Then, you looked over at him and almost cried. There was Jin, under all those blankets, toasty warm. He had planned this.
Jin noticed your gaze and decided to get out of his warm fortress. He strode over to you and wrapped his arms around you. Warming you up immediately.
“Baby I’m so so so sorry. I’m sorry that I forgot about our anniversary. I’m sorry that I missed all those dates. I’m sorry that I haven’t been honest with you. Please forgive me,” he begged.
You looked at him, shivering.
“O-ok. But, p-please just be honest-st with m-me,” you stuttered as the cold got the best of you.
Jin nodded and ran his hands up and down your ice-like arms.
“Come on Baby, I think you need warmth. Plus, this man needs cuddles.”
You laughed and got in bed with him sighing at the feeling of all the blankets on top of you.
