Made moodboards for my fic (the settling of dust, the rising of smoke) main characters because I've had no time to write but Im thinking of my story constantly and I have so many ideas but so little time T^T
Heather and Dagur's is self explanatory but imma yap about my fic plot and ocs in the cut:
The premise of the fic began with me wanting to write a sick Heather and Dagur having to take care of her, older brother things and all that but that evolved into a wayy longer and larger story than the og plot.
Now the fic (without trying to spoil the ending i haven't written yet) is still about Heather but follows her first time living on Berserker Island after her return in season 4 rtte, and the resulting story is one of political turmoil on the island in the aftermath of a war that occurred during Dagur's imprisonment. Heather is basically forced to navigate her homeland that is completely foreign to her, making friends and enemies along the way.
Now the oc stuff that im not sure i can really get into in the fic itself:
1. Kara
She's 14, persian, and not a Berserker but came along with her merchant family three years ago, who now lives on the island along with the remaining fleet of merchants that survived the war during the three years of Dagur's imprisonment. The war brought an epidemic that killed her parents, but she survived and, with her little medical skills, joined the island's healers where she remained. The little income she gets as a healer is sent straight back to her community, and despite being a kid, is one of the few who can financially support their group. Throughout the story she grows closer to Heather and they become close friends, like a sister <:
2. Shaheen
He is 20, also Persian, and lives in the settlement of displaced merchants. Like Kara, he lost his parents near the beginning of the war, not due to disease, but from being casualties of the fighting. His father joined the war effort in hopes of it ending so the merchant fleets can escape and return home, but ended up perishing along with his wife. Shaheen, at 17, picked up his father's sword and joined the war effort himself out of anger and grief, survived til the end, and now remains as a low-ranked soldier in the Berserker Guard. He, like Kara, spends his meager wages on supporting the settlement, and he also becomes a close friend and ally to Heather.
3. Rúni
Technically my sister's idea that she insisted on me putting in the fic, but he ended up becoming a major plot point lol. He's 27, Berserker, whose backstory is heavily intertwined with Dagur's. His father was one of Oswald's high ranking Generals and one of his closest allies/friends, which meant that Rúni and Dagur basically grew up together, and Rúni was even one of the first to meet baby Heather. His father ended up dying in an invasion that happened around when Heather drifted (which i plan on writing about later on), in Oswald's grief of losing his daughter, his wife (who died from a broken heart), and his close friend, he took Rúni in and raised him as his own, even favouring him over his own son whom he struggled to look at after Heather was set adrift. Rúni was acutely aware of the growing distance between him and Dagur, and even though Dagur lashed out at him for stealing his father from him, all Rúni saw was his little brother in need of guidance. Oswald disappears, Dagur becomes chief, and Rúni remains one of the few who are completely loyal to Dagur as his General and knows that he did not kill Oswald. He is absolutely devastated when Dagur is imprisoned and wanted to march up to Stoick to demand his freedom, but war broke out and he had no choice but to fight and protect the Island in Dagur's place. Before Heather arrives, he goes missing but is later found by her but as of the current story he is incapacitated and unable to talk to her about what he saw during his missing period. Also his special interest is poison. Like he drinks it for fun (he's a Berserker of course he's a little crazy).
So yah that's my story that im still writing (that I haven't touched in forever, cursed uni)
