Am I like the only one who thinks they absolutely mistreated Charlotte Brontรซ in Emily (2022)?
#there was in my opinion no reason to treat Charlotte like they did#or more specifically: to creat the characters like they did#there was no gooddamn reason to make her the villain#especially if you only can find a kinda rocky relationship between her and Anne of you search it up#but not inbetween her and Emily#like the worst thing? They kinda made me dislike Emily because they tried to make her not like other girls so bad#like this is so 2010. stop.#loved the costumes loved the score loved aesthetic loved Rachel Mackey#HATED the Wuthering Heights parallels and 'inspirations' sooooo much O M G#sooo bad. so many people talked about how bad it is to make it look like the only reason for Emily to write Wuthering heights#is because she had a romance herself and it's all based on that in a way and that's the only way a woman can creat a story:#by creating it through own experiences#SO. TRUE#also the tattoos? ๐๐๐ the weed smoking????????#but I can not stress ENOUGH about the misstreatments of my girl Charlotte#I also so someone saying you couldn't see the sisters being creative enough and actual write and HARDLY AGREE#I mean. Emily is just such an obvious choise to make a movie about of all of those three sisters#because she lived the life the modern audience is most interested into seeing. because a modest character like Charlotte#dosen't fit that much into the feminst version of women they want to see#they don't wanna see auite rebellion they wanna see the lod shit#and Emily or the idea we have of her is just absolutely perfect for that#it's in my opinion is going into the category of period dramas that present the past in a way the modern audience want it to see#like it needs to fit into their versions and their believes of the past no matter how far from the truth it is#but yeah.#*quite rebellion#*loud shit#also her and William had no chemistry i hated the sex scenes they where aweful bye#jule speaks#period drama
