{β} Headcanon: Both Artemis and Luna were gifts from the ruler of Mau for Queen Serenity, although of course they were treated as friends rather than possession. The Queen intended both felines to be guardians to Princess Serenity, however, after an accidental run-in with the Princess of Venus, Artemis found himself resonating with her, much like how Luna had to the Lunarian royal. Although he pledged loyalty to the Moon Kingdom, Artemis asked if he could be allowed to be a guide and guardian to Venus primarily, being as Luna was to watch over Serenity. Queen Serenity left this decision to her daughter, who accepted on the condition Artemis always accompanied Venus on her visits to the Moon so he could see Luna.Β
