There’s a difference between being another random asshole and being an offensive random asshole. The latter of which I try not to be, or feature.

Just because I acknowledge that the community is toxic doesn’t mean it’s gonna go away.

ive been trying to get back into league after taking a 6 month break or so and i keep getting fucked. i was silver 2 in s5 and ive just gone downhill from there, im trying so hard to get back to where i used to be but i hate the new meta, runes, and everyone is just autism. of course im not the best player but im having so much trouble getting out of bronze 1 right now

The community is the same as it’s always been. However, while I agree the community is ass, I don’t share your choice of words about it.

Anyway, it’s a 6 month break. That’s a long time, so things are bound to change. Not only that, you’ve fallen out of regular practice so that makes resuming the climb from your last stopping place that much more daunting. It’s like trying to use Windows 10 after never using a computer since Windows XP. Things change, you’re rusty, and it’s frustrating.

Practice. Take time to get reacquainted with the game. Take the time to learn and adapt to the new meta or items/systems. If you try to just jump right in to a competitive mindset without preparing for it, you’re gonna have a bad time.

I actually got chat restricted for calling someone who was running it down mid (he was mad because my friend and I went double top in a normal game even though we informed them) "childish" and "silver" (after he called me "bronze". I'm plat now) though. I talked some more shit in chat but no swearing, no offensive name-calling. The person inting was not even silver. They were bronze. Wouldn't surprise me if people get perma'd for ridiculous stuff.

I mean I’m not doubting ridiculous shit happened but the point I was trying to make was that there must have been more they hadn’t told us about that might have actually gotten them permabanned.

There is two ways to handle the jokes and any thing to relate to misgendering. The adult mature way of informing the other and correcting them politely. Then there's the throwing your arms up in the air and causing a scene for no reason because someone made a mistake. Sadly most of Tumblr reacts the latter and it's why the joke exists.

Regardless of why the joke exists or the fact that it exists I’d rather not have a bunch of people upset at me. It’s something that can be remedied easily by trying to actually respect people and who they are, or by respecting people who have things that bother them so I can try to make this a friendlier blog for everyone to enjoy. That’s my key motive here.

Wait people are getting offended by 'assume gender jokes'? Wow. The future looks soooo bright.

I’ve seen posts on here before regarding those kinds of jokes. It’s not a matter of getting “offended’ as it is a misinterpretation of trans peoples’ attitudes on being mis-gendered.

Long story short; yes, it is a joke, but it’s in poor taste regarding that it’s typically not how a trans person would correct whoever is mis-gendering them, mainly out of fear of a violent rebuttal or such. To turn to a joke such as that essentially produces a highly negative and confrontational stereotype to a group of people who would otherwise keep silent or just let the mis-gendering slide out of fear of such a reaction to a correction.

Apologies to any of my trans followers if I got any of this wrong or if this is too general.
