It was a rainy night, but Clara didn’t mind. She did all her best writing when it was raining. So, she brewed a cup of tea, poured it into her favorite mug, and padded into her study. It was her favorite room in the house, all dark wood and bookcases, with a big window facing the back garden where she could hear the rain.

After the Doctor had left, Clara had dealt with her feelings by writing things down. When she’d shown her gran some of the writings, her gran had insisted she try and publish the stories, not knowing they were real. To her surprise, they’d sold. A lot. She’d written four books so far, and with the fifth due in three months, and only half of the manuscript done, there were going to be a lot of long nights in her future.

She’d written maybe a paragraph when there was a knock at the door. She ignored it until it sounded a second time, prompting her to finally stand. She wrapped a blanket around her shoulders and padded over, opening the door just a crack. “Listen, whatever you’re selling, I don’t -“ She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw who it was, mug dropping onto the tile floor and shattering.

                Bela had been minding her own business inside the museum. She stopped at every piece of art and wondered where in her apartment she could picture it. The finer things in life were her favorite and thanks to her career she could afford more of those things. Moving onto the next item, she realized someone had been watching her.
