Porko Galliard.

After the period of time that passed between the last chapter of the manga where we see Eren and the others watching the horizon, for us fans it was a great pleasure to receive more characters back to our fandom despite the fact that the other part was not strongly agree with this new change.

But without a doubt, many of us love more than one new character.

For me, it was Porko Galliard.

Despite the hatred he received for killing Ymir - which was not his fault as it was Ymir's own decision to surrender - adding the fact that he was partly abhorred by Reiner's fan community, Porko Galliard was someone who It meant a lot.

Through Reiner's memories we could detect a little the relationship of brothers who were affected by the Galliard and how Marcel's premature death at the hands of an unconscious Ymir brought bitterness to this character.

Porko had never taken pains to have a close friendship with young Braun and many had come to the conclusion that he actually hated Reiner. But it's not like that.

Indeed, Galliard could not say that he wanted Reiner Braun as more than just companionship, what I mean is that Galliard did not accept Reiner as a friend as it was in the case of Pieck, Annie, Berthold and Zeke who They were closer to him, some more for others of course.

But I would put my hands in the fire because Porko Galliard didn't hate Reiner Braun.

A simple view Porko seems to be a rather bitter person, somewhat grumpy and gives that bad boy air of the series and it is not for less because his physicist makes sense of that concept plus everything is very far from reality.

In case Porko was not someone who throws flowers and chocolates around the world and will give great smiles full of good vibes but he loved his family, and he showed it with small details, his posture, his eyes his way of dealing with everyone. Porko was a person quite worried about his comrades. And we do not go far, when Reiner got in the attack that Zeke was going to receive in chapter 91 of the manga, he was injured but did not die because Galliard uses his titan to deflect the projectiles of the new anti-Titans weapons, hug Colt while he was suffering the consequences of a good response that he had not caused but also made him see it right to help his friend. He was always next to Pieck, one of his greatest friends and Zeke, who he respected as their leader and who he suspected, was a kind of older brother when Marcel was the mission of the unemployed.

It is not a surprise, Galliard was raised in the same conditions as Reiner and the others, indoctrinated and under the yoke of Marley a nation that the United States to conquer land for their benefit regardless of the lives of the Erdians but a parallel with this character is that like Gabi Braun shares that same loyalty to his nation. Galliard was fighting because he wanted to fill the controls to be a good Erdian unfortunately we could not see anything beyond Reiner's memories that is his childhood, the reasons why they were warriors apart from being with his brother, his dreams outside of his obligations as erdians. We did not know much about this character except for what we have been selected after the arrival of Reiner.

We may get a bad impression of Galliard during the first chapters, but to those who know the details of this manga is that as in everything, this character stood out sea whatever his motives.

Porko was a very kind and sensitive person, enough to mourn Zeke's betrayal, because as I said, Galliard appreciated his friends and among them Zeke was there his betrayal must have hurt him no doubt but it was no reason not to fight him . In addition, a rather noble forgiveness even knowing that Reiner had little left and that it was a better option to let Falco consume him to inherit the battleship Porko gave himself to give a minor of the Grice the way to continue seeing the world.

Because for Galliard, despite the death of his brother, he had seen the best he would offer and he only wanted to give Falco the same opportunity.

Yes, Porko Galliard could not have been the best character but without a doubt he stole the hearts of many fans and anyone who saw the story as we see it, would know that he was a very noble and kind character sacrificed to the last breath somewhat crude but someone exemplary and yet someone who specified himself alone.

I can only say to conclude that Porko Galliard is my favorite male character and that I really would have liked to see more of him.
