inwardly , noah knows he hasn’t handled the last few years of his life well . between falling off the side of the planet when his heath took a downfall and all but abandoning his family , the one constant in his life has been kezrah . he walks in from work , slowly closing the door behind him before he pads over to the living room . he draws in a breath , frowning a little before he crawls into the female’s arms and presses a kiss to her jawline . “ missed you today . ” he mutters quietly , looping their legs together . 

          any liquor influence doesn’t have to be involved for vera to make a complete fool out of herself, which is pretty on brand for her. but to rake up all these views and engagements for a viral video by dancing with a standee of her teen idol is quite unexpected. she’s playfully remarked to her sister and friends that she’s marrying her one day, so she figures this is a step ahead from that, joking about her one minute to fame to get closer to the celebrity she’s looked up to for years. it’s late in the evening with her friend running late for their dinner plans, leaving vera to impatiently order some food for her grumbling stomach. usually, she couldn’t stand to be eating alone at some retro diner with all the other tables filled with chattering groups of social casualties. she’s gotten herself busy with the mere company of her phone, scrolling mindlessly with one hand while the other pops some fries into her mouth. for some christmas miracle, somebody’s swooped into her booth and occupies the vacant space in front of her. but this isn’t just some random person, no, as she couldn’t believe her own eyes to be gazing back at the kezrah alvarez in the flesh. “ holy shit !! you’re --- “ she’s got no time to finish until she hears a swarm of screaming fangirls and paparazzis coming through the front entrance. ~ ♡ @sniffsglitter​

      it’s strange to him , to have her here again after so long , after she’d left to pursue her d r e a m s . he doesn’t the remember the last time he hadn’t heard her songs play on the radio , or seen her picture on the cover of some magazine , truth is he’s missed her   ——   and this was a painful reminder , of what having her around was like . they’d been hanging out in his living room for the past hour or so , and he’s dying to ask her one thing . maybe they’re still on the same page , maybe they’re not . once the laughter filling the air died out , elystan finally dared to speak up .  “  kez , d’you ever wonder .  .  . how things would’ve been like ??  ” he questions , tearing his gaze away from the brunette . “  how things would’ve been like if you’d stayed ??  ”

“hey, don’t look like that,” eugene chuckles softly. “it’s not a potion. there’s nothing magical about this soup.” he pauses, reconsidering. “okay, maybe i blessed the herbs before i added them but they’re going to help. i’m a good witch, i swear.” his smile is somehow both sweet and self-depricating. he cares about kezrah and really wants her to get better, but he also knows that not everyone takes his witchy tendencies very well.

   there’s a huff of air coming from ryland’s lips as he’s shutting the bedroom down behind him, looking over towards them. “they’re all a fucking lot, yeah?” he questions, stepping into the rather large bedroom before falling back onto the couch that sat caddy-cornered in the room. “my family’s fucking annoying and i’m sorry about their stupid ass questions.” ryland adds, ending his sentence with a bit of a chuckle. @sniffsglitter​

“oh.” her voice is just a whisper as the past few years come rushing back to her. kezrah, he first girlfriend, gone off to tour the world while amelia played her songs in run-down little bars and cozy coffee shops. she’s seen all the people kezrah has dated, but still listens for mentions of herself in any of her songs. and now, here she is, standing on amelia’s doorstep with snow-dusted eyelashes. “oh my god, what are you doing here?” her smile is genuine as she pulls kezrah into a quick hug. “come inside, it’s freezing out.”

“babe. babe come look at this. the hov.....nas? hovnäs? how the hell are you supposed to say the a with the two little dot thingies?” he’s trying so hard but cory can barely contain his giggles. “we gotta get it. we have to. who needs a table or couch or like, a spatula when we can get this weird-ass lamp for one hundred and twenty nine dollars??” he collapses into laughter again as he pokes one of the many arms, trying to get them to move.
