i've really only seen winspector, solbrain, and the first third~ of b-fighter, so my recommendations are pretty limited. winspector and solbrain are fantastic for what they are if "toku police procedural" isn't a dealbreaker (and they have the cuuuuuuutest robots in the world). b-fighter was fun from what i watched in that it was basically just 90s Tokusatsu: The Series, but i fell off right before all the big arcs that people actually remember

That's a good question; I'm uncertain, and would need to do more research into it. When I said that that it wasn't its normal call, I was mostly just trying to point out that lyrebirds are notorious mimics, so one shouldn't assume that every lyrebird sounds like a baby crying, but rather that if you hear a lyrebird singing, you should assume that he's mimicking something that he's heard.

However, most birds that are stringent mimics tend to have an ingrained 'basal' call, which they make before they begin to pick up on other sounds. These tend to be sharp, clear alarm calls that are distinct to the species and are ingrained into their behavior, as they serve a very distinct purpose (survival) vs the instinct to mimic (displaying reproductive fitness). This is likely what the 'normal' lyrebird call would be, and it would most likely be sourced from females, juveniles, and especially frightened males. I do not know off the top of my head if such a thing exists or is documented, however, and would have to research further.
