Steve "Snap" Mckeen. 18 years old, Senior at Hawkins High School. Total and utter outcast.
But wasn't that the truth? Here he was, sat in an empty classroom. Alone again and feeling about as interest in school life as ever. One Kodak camera and a notepad and pen for company.
It kind of stung to write it down though. He wished sometimes he was like the popular kids. Like Tommy H and the kid who captained the football team. People noticed them, people wanted to be around them. But him. He sighs and keeps writing. He knows in a way, it's kind on him. He always distances himself from other people. He doesn't know what to say and when he does, he usually gets nervous and then his stutter gets really bad and makes him just want to hide away. Most of the time people just snigger now. They used to make fun of him but they even got tired of that.
Now, he was just like a ghost in the hallway. Which was fine at first. But then it was like he wasn't there at all.
Screwing up the piece of paper, he throws it roughly towards the bin. Another miss. Apparently despite practicing, he'd still not gotten any better. So, sighing again, he pushes himself away from the desk and goes and retrieves it. "I'm telling you, there's something weird going on in Hawkins Jim!"
He shakes his head. Ever since he overheard the tail end of that conversation, between investigative journal apparently turned conspiracy nut Murray Bauman and chief of police, the fiery Jim Hopper, he'd not been able to think of anything else. What had Murray meant? How he'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall of that one.
The clock ticks, drawing his attention to it. Nearly time for his last session. Science. But at least Mr Clark was subbing for their normal teacher. Carefully shutting the door behind him and putting his camera around his neck, he headed off towards class....
