Tokyo Ghoul (+ Light Yagami) characters and the SnakeFace characters they inspired

Keep in mind, this was for the original version, so much has changed since (like Hans becoming an actual important character halfway through writing) and some of these don't really fit anymore.

Joey was originally technically inspired by Nishio, specifically due to his design, but when I characterized him more I drew inspiration from Hide. This is mostly due to Ivan and Joey's friendship throughout the series.

I don't want to post spoilers for either series, but I will say this: Val being based on Uta was because he was originally a "traitor" but I later changed his story and now he's only mostly aesthetically designed after Uta. Same goes for Lillith and Nuts. Lillith was going to be a crazy villain but I changed her COMPLETELY after publishing earlier episodes.
