When this pandemic changes everything, especially the Christian’s life. It often reminds me to the day when Jesus died on the cross.Â
Matthew 27:51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split.
It changed the temple. It was no longer about burnt sacrifices and offering. The temple became the fellowship of believers who gather to worship and pray and served one another. And later it shifted the church to be just bigger buildings, higher walls. We do church planting not soul planting as Jesus commanded his disciples.Â
Then the Internet has changed the Church a bit, but the wall is still high. Lack of openness to the world and to the other churches or denominations. Even though all Christian understood well that there is no denomination in heaven, but the ministry we did build higher walls to come to Jesus. We as Christians were way too far from the real missions. We don’t minister as Jesus did to all people without seeing their backgrounds.Â
The pandemic tear down the church wall. The Church (building) was now empty but the people are going out to the world instead. We worship and do ministry outside the church. That is what Jesus wants. And it goes very well, even though most of it still wearing the same banner. But the wall is lower and lower. Churches collaborate more with each other and go out to the world in the new form. Church is no longer open during weekdays or within operating hours. The empty church is not closed but it is open now for 24/7. It is less and less asking from which denomination or church, we are open to all Christians.
As from country with burned down the churches are common view or those in China who must go down under ministry, now I know God prepared us to go out to the end of the earth, not to be comfortable in our church. The harvest is plenty but the worker is few.  Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
