At one time, UAE-based developers would assess the number of parking spaces to be provided in a property in terms of square footage by determining how many cars could be parked.
The number of floors, and the overall foot print needed. Those days are long gone.
In 2026, the parking space will be evaluated based upon how quickly cars can be parked (ANPR speed), the occupancy percentage at various times, ticketless entry, and how well they can be integrated with all the other security and access systems throughout the building so that residents can enter seamlessly.
Facility managers will expect to have real-time data available to them, and investors will expect the development to provide all of these functions through one integrated smart technology platform.
Developers that are designing their projects with these requirements in mind from the start will save a great deal of money compared to developers that are retrofitting a building with smart parking technology that was not originally built to accommodate this.
